True, although I stand firm in the belief that Whyte was exhausted (having pushed the pace at 256LBs) and invited the punch in, at the right time for Parker as Whyte's head was at an exposed angle.

Regardless, all Heavyweights can crack or anyone over 200LBs, but it's gotta be a special kind of power to mix it with the top 5.

Hearn says Okolie - Lebedev and Chisora - Parker aren’t happening , I can’t defend it now. Shouldn’t be PPV.

I can't even begin to think what else he could try to make as a replacement for those two fights?

I assume Okolie will still be on but against someone probably British level.

Lebedev is a name in Russia why would he fight a prospect on an undercard in he UK?

Also remember when we got told that Whyte v Chisora or Parker can't be made without PPV money? Well what were the chances of having all 3 on 1 card?!?

Parker and Chisora would be idiots to prop up another Whyte PPV with Whyte against some guy nobody has heard of.
Maybe if Whyte got 40%, Chisora and Parker 25% each, and Rivas 10% ...... but Rivas wouldn't go for that either.

PPV should be for nothing but the BIGGEST FIGHTS.

To play devil's advocate. The last card that drew this much criticism was Whyte v Parker, which turned out to be a good night. I think Whyte v Rivas could be good. Two tough guys who will trade. Where it lacks in comparison though is the support. Chisora Takam turned into a minor classic because Chisora toughed it out but Price just can't fill that role. If Kash Ali hadn't lost his discipline he could've finished Price in his last fight, he seems to have no endurance left whatsoever.

Nights like this depend on interesting clashes down the card. So, I'm hanging fire until I see what else Hearn manages to add.

 

PPV is for fights that sell at PPV levels. It's nothing to do with the the biggest fights in a sporting sense. In boxing business biggest equals biggest seller.

The reality is that this will sell enough to justify it. I'm not saying it's a great card or a great main event but if you're a boxing fan who still doesn't understand the reason behind PPV fights then there must be something wrong with you.

No way I pay for this, but business is business, so it’s just tough luck on my part.

For the enlightened posters here a question though? At £20 a pop, how much does a PPV of this poor quality expect to sell? I really have no idea about numbers and such apart from the widely circulated one’s of the major fights. 100,000? 200,000? A what point does it become a flop money wise?
