I didnt realise either. I was looking for the Boxing News ratings and guess what? Whyte is also in their top 10, rated at number 9. Now I am not using any rating system per se, but after you had said so much about Whyte, I looked up 4 various ratings and Whyte was in all of them, which completely blows you out of the water LOL You see. This shows how you are being owned as you are trying to focus on one thing rather than the whole thing. I didnt just say the Ring. I also included, Boxing 24, Boxrec and Boxing News. I agree that you cant take any particular rating system but I didnt, I took 4 different ones and you are trying to dispute just one of them. Sure sign that you dont have an argument Something else I havent said. As I have noted, when someone doesnt have an argument, they try and change and alter the topic to try and suit to gain an angle. I wrote What I meant by that is that I feel Whyte would have earned his world rating if he could score that win. Which I have been clear about. It is you who is trying to change what is written No im not??? This is once again you trying to alter something and change it because your argument is failing. Anything else you want to try and twist and distort? Looks like you need some help UK bias? By rating Brownes win over Chagaev. Yep there you are again trying to find an angle for a failed argument Now I have addressed where you have tried to alter what was written, you find yourself back where you started with me. Without a sensible argument or response
I agree with that and implied that I dont think Whyte could be denied a world rating IF he were to score a win over undefeated Browne. I wouldnt bet on Whyte against many HWs but feel he would have earned a place IF he could get that win
I agree with that. What I was disputing was that IF Whyte could get that win over Browne, then I wouldnt dispute him having earned his world rating
Bailey just read your first post in this thread over and over until you understand it. Whyte already has a world ranking, the doesn't need to fight Browne to get it. As you have pointed out he's ranked high by WBC and the Ring. Something I never disputed. World ranking doesn't mean world level. Something you should know by now.
whyte is basically useless unfortunately. if he trained a bit then he might improve. but people have been saying that for a few years. hes no longer an up and coming fighter learning his trade, hes actually just found his level. a combination of reasonable ability and lack of real effort. browne could just suprise him here as despite wearing eyeliner he is a bit of a hard case. i see him catching him and putting him away emphatically.
Dillian Whyte is not, and never will be, 'World Class'. His crumb however is. Possibly a borderline ATG.
He could get that place but let’s face it. The heavyweight scene is up there with one of the worst it’s ever been. Charles Martin, Joseph Parker, Manuel Charr... fuuck me.
I know world ranking doesnt mean world level. I have never disputed that. What I have said is that Whyte would have earned his ranking if he were to beat Browne, and that is an IF. There are several HWs I would favour against Whyte, but I think if he were to beat undefeated Browne, his ranking couldnt be argued.
Its funny but in nearly every era people say its the worst it has been. Its normally after the era has passed where people talk about it more. I have had this thought before where if you have a division with one known name and several even money fights, fans think its a strong division and often it then seems that each of the legacys are determined with round robin wins and losses if that makes sense. So for example Frazier beats Ali, Foreman beats Frazier, Ali beats Foreman So fans rate it because it was competitive with tough even money fights. Then you have 3 ATGs/HOFers Had there been one dominant champ who was around and blasted all of them out, I expect fans would say its a weak division You then get one ATG/HOFer Hope that makes some sense
I can't really understand all the negativity on this thread and the forum as a whole. Dillian Whyte is rated top ten just about everywhere and he is going to face the unbeaten Lucas Browne who was stripped of his BS regular title after a decent win in Grozny vs Chagaev. This is a good fight and the winner deserves a shot at one of the belts. I reckon Whyte beats him in an entertaining battle.
Come on you can't put Parker in with Martin and Charr. Parker has at least beaten some solid opposition in Fury, Ruiz Jr and Takam. Those fights were close but he won both fairly to me and even if you think he lost those fights he showed he belonged at that level. Martin has beaten nobody as good as Ruiz Jr, Takam or Fury. He was a joke of a champion. Same with Charr who's regular WBA belt which in my opinion has as much value as an intercontinental belt. These guys show how the continued proliferation of titles has watered down the quality at championship level. Neither Charr or Martin would of got a title shot in the 90's, maybe a WBO title shot as the WBO belt back then was nothing more than a trinket.
