Saw the odds pop up for Dillian at 7/1. Worth a cheeky punt imo, but who do you think actually takes it and why? Does Whyte have a punchers chance or is he one foot in the grave?
In 2025 Whyte doesn’t represent serious opposition anymore, he’s taken brutal punishment and he’s shot to pieces Very clever matchmaking as Dillian Whyte is a name that casuals recognise, but he is easily beatable by Itauma. The smallest of step ups
Both? He's clearly declined a lot, and it seems unlikely he's going to come in much better.... Equally, we don't know what might happen if it goes a few rounds or if he lands something - Itauma's chin and stamina are unknowns
I reckon at those odds it might be worth a punt, Whyte is looking good in the gym, which i know doesn't mean much in the ring, but if he is back on the good stuff he could give Itauma a hard night. Whyte has looked super washed lately, and he has always had openings in his style that a fighter like Itauma can take advantage of though.
The Tetteh fight at times was quite competitive...it's over. He was on the outside looking in fighting in Gibraltar and Ireland of all places after the failed drugs test and he's luckily hit the retirement jackpot. We don't know precisely what Itauma is outside of being very talented but we do most likely know if he had an especially suspect chin or a very leaky engine it would have most likely been more overtly discussed in the form of sparring rumours and chatter about it giving the hype. Itauma eviscerates Whyte.
Whyte was shopworn coming into the Fury fight with all the tough fights and the multiple brutal KO losses he suffered. Since that he's regressed even more and has done nothing of note really since except barely edging past Franklin who is a fringe top 20 Heavyweight. It's a perfect match up for Itauma with Whyte being a notable name but who is no longer relevant and is also shopworn. Itauma should stop him by the middle rounds.
It's almost as if Marsellus Wallace was talking about Whyte. The thing is Dillian had ability, but painful as it may be, ability don't last. Dillian's days are just about over. Boxing is filled to the brim with unrealistic mother****ers who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don't. Besides, how many fights does Dillian have left anyhow? Two? Boxers don't have an Old Timers Place. He came close but he never made it and if he was gonna make it, he would have made it before now. Dillian's ass goes down in the fifth. Moses KO.
