Yeah and then Wilder went with Ortiz as a follow up.. and Fury schwarz... And lets not.pretend that either Fury or Wilder thought of each other as serious threats... both were banking on each other being easy pickings. So those are pathetic follows ups.
This is like a gang banging, these responses. Yes I have seen Rivas fight before, the full fight against Jennings which is about as much as you have all seen. So what, I got his nationality incorrect. I remember another poster mentioned him being Cuban and I wrote that into my memory bank. Anyway, ha ha ha. What a chump I am.
Wilder was considered the clear #2 in the division when Fury, just back off his horrible lay-off and out of Fat Camp, took him on. You can't pretend Wilder wasn't seen as a serious threat for Fury in that condition despite what Fury might have said about Wilder's skills. That was December last year, not long ago in boxing terms. Yes, Schwarz was crap but it's not as if Fury is consistently avoiding the big fights since he came back 12 months ago. He's already fought Wilder. If he goes the next 6 - 12 months facing more Schwarz types then, yes, you can start to make a case. But you're jumping the gun. .... and Breazeale was crap too, but Ortiz is actually potentially a very tough fight for Wilder as he proved last year.
Exactly It was in Wilders mind a cherry pick I cant for the life of me see how Wilder would been a cherry pick for Fury
I agree basically. I think Fury would have fancied his chances at his peak, but when he took that fight there was still little evidence that he'd ever get back to anything like it. I feared he was going to outbox Wilder for 3 or 4 rounds and then his body would betray him and he'd be caught and dispatched by Wilders right hand. Respect to Fury for taking that fight on.
fury fought seferi... a 6 foot nobody at heavyweight... as far as warm ups are concerned that was pathetic... than.pianeta... fair enough... but its well known wilder has minimal boxing ability compared to the top 15. On top of that Fury had a height, reach and agility advantage in contrast to all of wilders previous opponents, enough to significantly negate Wilders typical advantages in suceeding over his opponents. sorry but thats pathetic... however not nearly as pathetic as wilder ducking whyte... which no sane human being in the universe can condone. Please dont sit there and try to justify an Ortiz rematch because that makes me sick to my stomach.
Absolutely I think the general opinion in boxing at the time of the fight being signed was that Fury was making a big mistake He had balls going for it so soon after a long lay off and lets be honest a real challenge in the ring
It makes you “sick to your stomach” when a faceless internet geek tries to justify a boxing match which is about to happen. Bit emotionally unstable there, flower? Take some cranberry juice for the cramps
I get that its an internet forum... I get that we are anonymous... But if you condone hard working boxers like whyte getting mistreated in such fashion... And not condemn wilder/wbc for giving other less deserving fighters easy tickets...when they already had their chance.. I gotta say... you are a bit of a *******...
He's headlining another PPV which will line his pockets further, was asked by the WBC to fight Ortiz but didn't (you know the dude who is actually now fighting Wilder), was asked by the IBF to fight Pulev to be a mando but didn't and was offered a fight against AJ for all of the belts he had at the time, which he turned down. I'd be down for Wilder-Whyte, probably more so than the Ortiz rematch as he has really started to look his age but I don't buy the mistreatment angle. I understand the angle they're going for perfectly well. They want to make Whyte appear to be a boogeyman figure and market him that way, but it's simply not true. IMO Hearn wanted that AJ-Whyte fight for all the belts and everything Whyte has been advised to do has been to deliver that as opposed to delivering Whyte an actual title shot (this angle holds more solidly if you're of the opinion that the AJ offer was low). I don't think think Whyte gives a **** because he only cares about the money.
Wilder went for breazeale and then Ortiz as follow ups can’t see how he can be criticised for fighting Ortiz x2 fury and breazeale as his last 4 fights.
So if you supposedly decline an eliminator the other guy gets fast tracked to the champ?? Is that how it works?? See Ortiz just fought Wilder and Dillian offered Ortiz to fight in UK on main card. Ortiz declined instead wanting Whyte to fight on an undercard in USA and ear peanuts. WBC orderdled Fury vs Whyte as eliminator... than Fury backtracked where Whyte agreed.... Fury then got given another shot at Wilder...? Because the first was controversial???? So???? They can rematch any othrr time.... there is no.obligation... other contenders.... say maybe like the WBC silver champion of 600 days... should be more eligible to get his shot seeing as they are handed so freely to guys that werent even in the rankings. Whyte HAD agreed to breazeale for an interim/ diamond belt... then breazeale understandbly got a shot at champ.... understandbly as in Wilder protection squad didnt want the possibility of Whyte winning and getting a mando. Being at the top of the WBC roster counts for somethiny based on the rulebook... it doesnt make you a mando... but you sure as hell get first.priority if you been #1 for.600 days... in any normal reality.. at least. Yet WBC and Wilder have made no hint as whether Whyte will ever get his chance... I heard Kownacki's name.being.in the mix after Fury and Ortiz... so where is the logic for that? Why Kownacki?? Maybe Whyte should move into rank position #8... maybe he'll get more attention. Being #1 contender is clearly overrated and m3ans jack****.
Wilder can be critisized because the whole world knew he would be Breazeale given how slow Breazeale is. And he already beat Ortiz clear and uncontroversially. Ortiz is an old old old man... and somehow Wilder he thinks he didnt quite beat Ortiz clearly enougj with three knockdowns that he needs to do it again..when there are other people in line who have been #1 contender for 600 days.. young.. prime... youngry and offering 12 million dollars who have not been given a SINGLE shot at Wilder like Fury or Ortiz o Kownacki are getting. and they fought NO mandatories. Whyte agreed to mando with Fury but Fury reneged.
Jesus Christ not everything is Whyte or nothing wilder is fighting top 15 fighters but because it’s not Whyte you ***** and moan. Maybe Whyte should of took pulev fight or maybe Whyte should of taken Rivas also Whyte was targeting breazeale and I bet if Whyte beat him like I would expect him to you would be licking whytes arsehole.
