Fury isn't exactly a big star first fury Wilder fight was terrible numbers and the 3rd one was much lower than expected

I'm not saying whyte should get a big purse I'm just saying he well within his rights to ask for a bigger portion he's sold out arenas, stadiums and sold plenty of ppv infact I think if you combined whytes and Fury's sales I don't think there'd be much of a gap

And nothing compelling pretty sure it's better than fighting some punching bag like Tom Schwartz

$10 mill seems too high but not totally outrageous considering Whyte's marketability, after adding up share of PPV he could probably earn that vs Fury but asking that as the guarantee is too much. Whyte is a proven PPV draw in the UK doing 474K vs Parker and 438K vs Chisora, though his recent PPV's during the pandemic have not done as well as the lack of big crowds to create atmosphere seems to have effected PPV sales in the UK and with Omicron doing it's thing who knows if we'll have live crowds for this fight, so right now Whyte seems to be pricing himself out of this fight.

Whyte and Hearn clearly trying to squeeze all they can out of Fury and Warren but with Fury being so unpredictable he could very well vacate. But then again maybe that's what Hearn wants an easier title shot for Whyte so he can secure a title at heavyweight and then squeeze whoever ends up winning between Fury and Usyk for an undisputed title fight which would be more lucrative than this fight. Or perhaps Hearn simply wants this to go to purse bids knowing with DAZN's resources he can out bid Warren and Arum. Though the risk there is if Fury beats Usyk he could very well retire or decide he doesn't need to become undisputed as he's had all the belts before, just not all at once.

I don’t get the hate towards Whyte. He’s demanding that sum of money because he knows it’ll go to purse bids otherwise where promoters will pay big money to host the fight (especially DAZN). Why would he accept $4 million when he can earn twice the amount from purse bids etc?

Also, this is a massive fight in the UK. It would sell out any stadium and do huge PPV numbers.

 

Whyte has sold more PPV's in the UK then Fury has... fury could barely attract 5 thousand against Wallin pre Covid Fury has never been a draw on his own he needed Klitschko and Wilder to attract the crowds.

 

Well guess what, that's why the fight will happen in the UK, where the money is; pretty simple. And if Fury has all these fans in America, then they will pay PPV.

Heck if the American market can take Ortiz V Martin on PPV, then I reckon the market will welcome Fury v Whyte on ESPN

And if they don't want to pay to have control of the fight, let it go to purse bids

If Whyte draws more than Fury in the UK then there is something setiously wrong with the british understanding of sport. A guy who got KTFO by 40 yr old shot Povetkin draws more than the british HW Champion of the world! ? No wonder the country is messed up.
