I'm not really interested in this fight. Povetkin is clearly old and has no stamina and Whyte is fat and also deteriorated like Povetkin.
Povetkin is 40 y/o, way past his best, has been fighting at the top level in combat sport, both as a kickboxer, an amateur boxing, and pro boxing for like 20 years or so and the Hunter fight will only have put more miles on his battered old clock. Can he still compete at the top level and beat many of the guys ranked in the top 15 assuming the Hunter fight hasn't taken too much out of him? Yes. However, he's at that age now where he could get old overnight and lose to someone he would've beaten with ease in his prime and even if he manages to make it near the finishing line and achieve his goal of another world title shot he'll fall at the final hurdle. He's had an amazing career overall both as a kickboxer, amateur boxer and as a pro boxer so I feel he should call it a day. Dillian's right This content is protected
Be a good fight I suppose. I always wanted to see chisora fight povetkin. That would be guaranteed war
I don't really agree with the 100% comment. I am probably being a little pedantic there. Obviously he would be a strong favourite against Povetkin but I wouldn't rule out a Povetkin win. I think you wouldn't either and that's why you don't think he should take the fight. I think you are right, too big a risk when you have a guaranteed shot at a title. However White has shown himself to be the ultimate heavyweight risk taker, so pretty sure he would definitely take the fight.
He is a risk taker but I dont see Povetkin as any mire dangerous than Rivas Chisora or Parker Those guys are relentless and young tough hungry Povetkin doesnt bring the pace to beat Whyte or the size He does have power but im not even remotely worried about Povetkin beating Whyte just think Whyte shouldnt have to keep facing the entire list of contenders before getting a shot
I think he wants to avoid the primer , faster , younger and fresher Hunter. Most guys call out the winner and not the guy who most people though lost.
