Whyte will face Malcom Tann on Indongo/Crawford undercard.

    A total mismatch.It's okay for someone like Kuzmin to face Tann because he is a prospect and is still pretty new to the pro scene but it's not good for Whyte to face Tann because he is past that level, he needs to face guys like Miller or Breazeale, someone who would test him and be a learning curve. But Tann is very far from learning curve type fight. Hearn just wants to make a cheap fight.

    It's all well and good saying he should fight Breazeale and Miller but there are clearly circumstances at play preventing those fights being made right now. Breazeale is a Haymon fighter, good luck trying to get him to fight on an Arum card. Miller has just won the biggest fight of his career, do you really expect him to step up again and fight Whyte on a three week turnaround? It's an eight round tick over fight, sometimes these are necessary, especially if a hitherto active fighter has been out of the ring for eight months.

    Some of the reactions to Whyte's choice of opposition for this fight is blowing this out of proportion IMO.

    What do you expect from someone who's just undercard filler to fight in the HW division of all places on short notice? It was always going to be a journeyman and/or someone outside of the top 50. Get over it.

    Nothing but respect for Whyte... Very good fights with Joshua and Chisora. In this day and age his track record at HW is commendable. All of these people hopping on the criticism bandwagon have been really quick to forget that... This was always just undercard filler/stay busy for Whyte.

    Meh, it's a horrible fight but he is busy and it's a stay busy fight. We'll more than likely watch it or check to see he won. As long as he moves on from there or gives Chisora another crack then happy fricking days.
