In the grand scheme of things he didn't lose much last night. Nothing has really changed. What is everyone else at Heavyweight doing right now? Nothing masturbating to Whyte getting hit with one of the best punches Povetkin has thrown in his life. Otto Wallin is the only other guy who has been out and he fought a journeyman to keep busy By the year end Whyte will have had two solid fights and camps under his belt. He just needs to win the rematch at the end of the year, if not then he gets set back. He was talking about fighting Wallin anyway in December if he beat Pov last night....So the masterplan doesn't change. The only thing that changed was it gave more ammo to Fury to smacktalk Whyte over & some other heavys some confidence maybe. I've loved smack talking Whyte for the past number of years but seeing him get KO'd brutally last night gives me no joy and I don't think it hurts his career. I look forward to the rematch, it will be one of the most anticipated fights of the year just behind Fury Wilder if they get it together.
I got joy from it, as he is a slabber and a very rude, obnoxious individual Hadn't the decency to shake hands and is a sore loser Hope he gets flatlined again.
I have never liked Dillian, but there was a moment when he got KO'd and he was still on the floor, and I had the realisation that there's a chance this might be career finished for him, and do you know what? I was absolutely gutted. The guy put on fights that people wanted to see, and they were always exciting. In a HW division where everyone seems to avoid each other, he tried his best to fight people he thought could beat him. I think seeing him get KO'd like that has given me a newfound appreciation for him. Bring on the rematch, I'm rooting for Whyte this time.
That's fair, I forgot about that. Whyte saying "He got beat up so bad" and hysterically laughing, not a good look now.
Atleast Wilder has never been laid out on his Ass for long in his career. Dillian has achieved this feat twice in his career
He had a great camp, or as you put it 2 solid camps, worked harder than ever and was still beat by an old, slow, povetkin.. If you can't beat the old the old man of the division, then.... All the talk of maximum violence and all he did was stand there trying to block shots and counter, that ain't going to work against a technical fighter, you have to move, set traps and not let them set, all of which whyte didn't do.
Fury is the best boxer in the world. Wilder kept getting up and went out on his shield unlike baby chinny far dillian
Wilder never looked like he had a chance in there, it showed how limited he is. Dillian looked like the better man to me, and he get KOd whilst trying to win, that's going out on your shield, Wilder pretty much gave up offense and just let his daddy spank him. Way more embarrassing. Plus Wilder is terrified of Povetkin, at least Whyte got in there with him.
I hope Dillion comes back and gets his shot, but how many of these brutal knockouts can he take? He if comes back in December against Povetkin, he will get beat in December by Povetkin, because Povetkin is the better man. That will finish him as a world-class fighter. He will fight on, half-heartedly and perpetually overweight. We have seen it before. I am sorry, but the man is derailed. This is going to take a couple of years to come back from.
Yeah probably, but that wasn't what we were talking about. Because he ran scared from said pensioner.
I like Whyte as a fighter, but don’t much care for his antics out of the ring. I don’t mind smack talk and all that, but at the heart, boxing is a gentleman’s sport. So, if someone extends their hand before a fight, like Povetkin at the weigh in, you shake his fecking hand. On the other hand, I fecking love Povetkin! He is a throw back fighter and a golden oldie. I have always been biased towards the old fighters, who may be sticking around for longer than they should, but still have the tools to compete. Like Wlad, respected him as a fighter and a man, but at the end of his reign I just wanted someone to come along and shake up the division, so I was delighted when Fury did it. But, when Wlad came back for Joshua and were suddenly 40+, I rooted for him like a little fan girl Long story short, I got joy from the result. Not so much because I dislike Whyte, but because I like Povetkin immensely.
