good brawler with decent hook and uppercut, but sloppy fighter all round, never really in full control.
Povetkin failed a drugs test against Wilder when Wilder flew to Russia to fight him, that's on povetkin. It doesn't matter if Dillian looks good for six rounds if you can't take a punch
Of course it makes a difference. Even if Whyte could beat Povetkin 9/10 (not saying he can but for arguments sake) and Povetkin could only win 1/10 the fact is that Povetkin actually won that 1/10 and thats the only fight that has any relevancy at thisbpoint as the rest are just fantasy results. We dont know how this will effect Whyte both physically and mentally, will it change his style will he be more gunshy because of it, will opponents be more willing to take risks against him now hes been KOd again and has looked vulnerable in several fights. Plus hes changed trainer, camps, how much did this effect the fight? Politically hes in a different situation, he no longer mandatory for a title shot, hes lost some power in negotiations and at a weaker stamce due to that. Povetkin cam ask for a bigger cut and its Povetkin whose has the power as he could hold off on a rematch even if it is contracted, fein retirement, ask for stipulations that aid him mire in a rematch. Whyte may well rematch and beat Povetkin and find himself back in a mandatory position but hes not gonna get it at the same time and if Joshua and Fury fight hes peobably looking at another 3-4 fights before he gets a shot instead of next time out. Regardless of how you look at it thisbwas a disaster for Whyte, he can if coyrse bounce back but its still a disastrous result for him.
that is some mental gymnastics you did op. this loss absolutely affects whyte , now he has to face the man who ktfo again instead of advancing his career and there is a big chance that povetkin, a good technical fighter with great ring iq, will catch him again in december. Whyte is the transatlantic big baby miller, big tough sloppy guy with doping problems and only a slightly better record.
It puts pressure on him for the rematch but other than that...the master plan remains the same: Protect AJ from Fury at all costs.
Did said Pensioner not get busted for peds then? Also he wasn't quite as old Whyte ran from another Pensioner named ortiz
There were a lot of joy in what happened last night. Not just for Povetkin, but also for Chisora, Parker and Rivas who were all butt****ed in Whyte’s favour. And to top all that, It was a great redemption story for the old man Sasha.
Not according to WADA and the WBC. Wilder got finished in 3 by a lesser man with headgear on. GTFOOH.
Loving these threads so far, mostly from idiots too. "Whyte wins the rematch", "Whyte didn't lose, no idea why you guys are celebrating", "Whyte won, impressive!", "Povetkin should retire now, he is finished", "Whyte won bro", "Nothing is happening in the division(well no **** nutcase, ever heard of coronavirus?), so Whyte didn't really lose".
The sympathy Whyte gets for getting iced by a 41 year old vs the credit Wilder gets for icing a 41 year old is astounding
