Just watched kugans interview with Hearn from yesterday... after a long discussion re: wilder he’s asked about Whyte...

This isn’t the first time I have heard him say it but he says Whyte has a good offer from ESPN/Top Rank to fight in the US and work with them in the UK.

Why doesn’t DAZN sign Whyte to keep him fighting under the Matchroom umbrella ... DAZN didn’t pick up the chisora 2 fights that went on showtime and he isn’t even on a long term contract with Matchroom?

Am I missing something surely Hearn could keep Whyte working solely with him if he wanted to... ?

What does Hearn care? He offered Whyte the AJ fight and he declined.

That rematch would sell but not as much as it could have, beating browne, Parker and chisora are good wins but nothing special when really whyte could’ve fought pulev and Ortiz which imo are better wins than those others.

If I was in whytes shoes right now I’d try and get a fight with Ortiz

Saying that though apparently Browne vs Allen is fine to headline the O2 and will sell so what do I know? Lol!

I think its about the money... DAZN seem to want to stick with the matchroom shows they have already purchased and will pick and choose other PPV's as they do not want to use their budget on UK shows at difficult timings that do not do the numbers and would prefer to spend the budget on US fights that bring in US audiences.

If Whyte was to annouce he is going to fight his next 3 fights in the US then I think this would be a different story. ESPN are in a different position as they are trying to buy into the top level heavyweight market. DAZN have AJ so will be comfortable with their position waiting for purse bids or super fights should they arise.

It seems to me that Whyte is in no mans land at the moment.

Didn't Hearn say Joshua isnt exclusive to DAZN and can fight on any network? Would be crazy of DAZN to not have him tied down.

What do they need to tie him down for? Does Whyte Ortiz increase subscriber numbers for DAZN? Probably not. Is he going to fight Ortiz? No. What other fight does fight have that can improve DAZN’s profile? None. He’s sitting round waiting for his mandatory against Wilder and at which point you can bet your bottom dollar that DAZN would go all out in the purse bids.

Whyte has never been signed to Matchroom he is on a fight by fight basis. As far as in aware he represents himself.

They have first refusal to match any other offers, but are not obliged to.

Surely DAZN aren't impressed with Hearn, they've got out and signed all the bigger names Canelo, GGG etc sans matchroom

Hearn is DAZN. Hasn’t realised yet he’s a partner in it with equity!
