Defiantly a top power punch when it lands on point with technique. Whyte was just missing Chisora with the full weight behind it throughout the fight . The one he hit Parker with was better ,he didn't have his left leg planted in the right spot and it took some steam off it but Chisora doesn't have Parkers chin . if Whyte threw more consistent left hooks like that he would be far more dangerous. Guys like Razor Ruddock and Tommy Morrison were known left hookers bc when they threw it it was almost always with the same impact.
The ref did a good job in a dirty fight. In fairness Chisora was blowing through his ass by the 10th but he put up a good showing. Great left hook to finish the job by Whyte
As I said in another thread earlier, it's his one and only meaningful punch, but Whyte's counter left hook is very good indeed, both power and timing (surprisingly)
Yeah, it's pretty decent. Funny how margins work in boxing. Had Chisora kept his right hand up when throwing, he blocks that shot and doesn't get iced.
It's a very powerful punch, but a little lacking in versatility. He basically throws it the same every single time, short and close to his chest, which means he falls short with it a lot of the time. He's got a lot better at timing it though, which counts for a lot. Coupled with his improved jab, uppercuts and bodyshots it's a very useful and dangerous weapon against anyone looking to brawl with him.
It's his best punch, but it's not his only meaningful punch. He has a very decent jab and excellent bodyshots and uppercuts in close that he throws with venom and sharpness. Only his sloppy right hand lets him down and kinda imbalances him.
