The Klit brothers are both Doctors.

Sure, now they are world champions they are earning more than they would have if they stayed as professionals in their fields. But they didnt know they would become world champs.

They could have stuck with their studies and made a very decent living. But they wanted to fight.

They were boxers since childhood, they hadn't work as doctors even 1 day. Vitaly decided to try himself as politic, but when he had lost on elections he came back to boxing.

You don't undestand. There are fighters like ROy Jones,BHOP and Mosley that have nothing to prove anymore, they don't have money issues and still fight.
I think they love boxing and just love to be involved in the boxing life.

nigel benn would be a good call. that trait added another juxtaposition to the benn-eubank rivalry is how eubank was so money and career driven while benn wanted the person to fight. he chose dan sherry becuase he fought eubank for half a paycheck

He might have been glory and pride but that last comment for the Mayorga fight sounds ridiculous considering he came in terrible shape for that one.

barrera could've lived his life without the pains of boxing. but he boxed for the love of sport. he still loves boxing as evidence by his comebacks. how many is it? 3rd time? he seems just can't leave the sport.

Wow, not many boxers have money issues like Holyfield. Such concept as "enough money" does not exist.

Having a doctorate and being a doctor are two different things.

Vitali has one in Philosophy for christ sakes.

Clearly, but for some it's more than just another day at the office.
