Are you kidding me? all Ricky has did since Mayweather KO'd him is ***** about how Floyd didnt beat him, the ref did!

Hatton humble? Its not in his mindset. Hatton is a fans hero, but theres a big difference from being a fans hero & being a humble person.

How many people who have met Hatton, would argue that he isn't humble?

The argument that he isn't, is ridiculous. You can give me a list of the private jets he's flown in, the amount of Rolex's he wears, the hotels he stays in and all that bull****. None of that means he isn't humble and neither does this ''Third person talk'' nonsense. Listen to the people who know him. Either as a friend or just someone he bumped into in the street. When have you ever heard about Hatton being a *****?

If I won the lottery, I'd like to think I would stay humble. Would I buy nice things? Of course, but I'd still be loyal to my roots, which is exactly what Hatton has done. He looks after his family and friends.

I also think you have to factor in his charity work. Anyone who is a millionaire, yet still goes out of their way for kids with cancer is a sound person. I think the next time people try to defame his character, they should think about that. Does talking in third person and wearing nice watches override all his charity work?

    Jack Jack Jack...

Im not arguing that Hatton isnt a good guy, I know hes a fans man. I also know that he has multi millions, but he likes a good drink etc.

All I am saying is that Hatton the fighter is no hmble man, hes quite the opposite. He thought he would destroy Mayweather, & when he was destroyed he blamed the referee for his defeat, Ricky Hatton the fans favourite may be a nice guy, but Ricky Hatton the fighter isnt.

Im talking about Ricky the fighter here, not Ricky the man in between fights who walks about drinking beer with the hat on.(no pun intended)

Dunky - why do you feel that was about Hoy? Is it because he said he would not have had such success without the funding and facilities in England? He's basically said he couldn't give a **** about the MBE or whatever it is.

to those saying the Hatton argument is boring, it'll all stop when you huggers just finally admit he does constrantly talk about himself in the 3rd person and his head is clearly up his own arse. Simple really.

It was half funny at one point Betty. Now it's just plain weird! Paranoid, obsessive and a symptom of mental illness!

I'm quite sure Hatton did not walk into the ring thinking he was going to destroy Mayweather. However, I'm also quite sure he was confident in his chances of victory. It's a necessity of the trade they're in. What is the guy supposed to do say "Mayweather/Tszyu/Pacquiao/Castillo/Whoever is a brilliant fighter, I could never hope to live with him so what's the point stepping into the ring"? If you're thinking like that then you're in the wrong game quite frankly.

Re: the ref thing, he had a point in a way, I don't believe it would have made any difference to the result, but the refereeing that night was certainly better for a fighter of Mayweather's style than his. But, again, this is something which most or all fighters do, highlight factors beyond their control which influenced the result. It comes again from the necessity to believe that you are the best. And does not change the fact that outside of his professional persona, Hatton is one of the nicest, most down to earth men you could ever wish to meet.

If the worst that can be said about the guy is that he believes in himself and that he talks about himself in the third person, well... I hardly think it makes him the antichrist, nor deserving of all these boring, repetitive and downright bullshite threads!

    can anyone disagree with this?

ever since day one Hatton has been desperate to be accepted as a down to earth northerner...just another one of the lads. Has a fry up before a big fight and spends his nights down the pub at his local...feet firmly on the ground.

but the third person thing is a major sign of self construction and promotion. Ricky Hatton will do this...and that...and so on.

if you were cynical you could say along along he knew he never had a hope v PBF and Pac, but was marketing this character for maximum PPV revenue.

That's when all love and respect for our adorable Ricky goes down the drain.

The fact that he's taking on Marquez instead of accepting that he was never near the best in the world and should just forget world titles...seems to show that he's still chasing the yankee dollar over a bit of pride, esteem and dignity.

So to Hatton haters from over the years - I salute you.

Still don't believe Witter would have ever touched his belts though.

Well yes - that does seem to be the catch.

Betty is saying - he will stop talking about Hatton when everyone agrees with him about Hatton.

So that means Bettys ulimtate goal is to turn all of ESB posters into Hatton haters then he will stop talking about him.
