I couldn't agree more. He was underappreciated especially here in the US.

Lewis is an ATG... without a doubt. I have never said that he wasn't. However, he is VERY overrated on this site.

With the exception of Riddick Bowe - who gave up his title rather than face Lennox - Lennox beat everyone of note in the division, he was the undisputed champion of the world - with no unavenged loses on his record - however you look at it - that is an impressive career.

So I guess everyone things that Lewis' title reign... with his only successful title defenses against Grant, Botha, Tua, old Tyson, and his fight with Vitali? That is an amazing title reign? Wow.

The other top 5 fighters of Lewis' era were Tyson, Holyfield, Moorer, Foreman, and Bowe. Lewis didn't fight ANY of them in their prime. It really doesn't matter if you "beat every man that you ever faced"... when you were also knocked out twice, and DID NOT beat any of the top 5 guys in your division during your era.

Reading comprehension problems? I know that you are doing this, because you are still belly aching about the unbelievable thrashing that I gave you a while back... when we took it to the polls and 80% of the board agreed that I owned you in our debate.... anyways....

I NEVER said that Lewis wasn't impressive. I said that his actual reign after he was recognized as the True Champ, wasn't that impressive. It wasn't. He did have a successful career all around though.. and he did beat good fighters. Just not the best fighters of his era, during their prime.

If you're talking about Lennox's abilty, skills that type of thing, then whether or not was overrated is very subjective, he was certainly underrated by many Americans when he was the champ. I personally think he was one of the finest heavyweights there has ever been. If you look at his resume from 1992 onwards, it is solid as hell, there isn't any HW from that era who you could say "well, Lennox didn't fight him".

Wlad is already considered the true Champ. That is my point. Lewis was not considered... or ranked as the #1 heavyweight until after he beat Holyfield.

However, if you want to act like Wlad isn't true champ until he unifies all of the title now... which is next to impossible these days.. then that is your opinion, and open for discussion in another thread.

You have to be kidding... right? Moorer? Foreman? Bowe? Holyfield in his prime? Tyson in his prime? Wladimir Klitschko was even Lewis' #1 ranked Challenger by Ring Mag for over 2 years, and Lewis didn't fight him either.

I can think of MANY heavyweights that Lewis didn't fight. Especially during their primes.
