widdow has a point, i have also pointed out in the past that lewis did fight many fighters past their prime or who were not in top shape.
    weaver - past prime
    biggs - pp
    ruddock - pp
    tucker - pp
    bruno - pp
    morrison - pp
    mercer - prime
    mccall - mentally not stable
    golota - -//-
    briggs - prime
mavrovic - mysterious weight decline already begun, but probably didn't affect him much
    holyfield - pp
    grant - "prime"
    botha - why?
    tua - not in shape
rahman - got caught, but got his revenge
    tyson - way pp
vitali - prime (but a win on cuts is not as good as a real ko win)

still he is the best hw of the mid 90s-early 00s, and h2h in the top3 of all time.

Ah yes but getting smashed to bits doesn't count if you're up on points, apparently.

No he is not. He has not unified the belts, and has not beaten the linear champ. He will not be considered the true champ by anyone outside of the Klitiites until he becomes undisputed.

Furthermore, Lewis was a fine fighter with a superb reeume throughout his career, ok, his actual undisputed championship reign did not have all the best names in it...but he beat the other good contenders before it even started, so go figure.

You are suggesting he doesn't get credit for wins like Ruddock, because he was not yet undisputed champion? Well, that sucks for Wladimir, cause if/when his reign ever starts, it aint gonna look at all good by your standards.

Finally, Wlad has no hope in hell of ever getting a resume that even holds a candle to Lewis'. The guy has not even become true champion yet and whats the very best his 'championship resume' could look like if it does? Haye, Povetkin, will have been fought beforehand. so the best he could hope for is...Valuev, Gomez, Chagaev? ****, now that will be a reign of terror.:lol::lol:

I never accused you of swinging from anyone's nuts. But, I have enjoyed seeing you run all over this thread like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to stomp out fires at your feet. This poll thing is an awesome idea. I'm glad you turned me on to it.

I agree with you. How can Widow Maker criticize Lewis's reign when he is a Wlad fan?? He discredits anything that isn't Wlad. He once said I was not a true fan of boxing because I said that Wlad's fights with Ibragimov, Thompson and Rahman were ****ing coma-inducingly boring!! I wonder what his opinion of Larry Holmes's reign is. **** probably, as Larry isn't Wlad either.

Lewis with only 14 pro fight was facing Gary Mason 35-0. Wlad with 14 pro fight was facing Ladislav Husarik 4-13-1 that is VERY IMPRESSIVE. With 32 fight Wlad was facing the GREAT David Bostice, Lewis with 32 fights already got his first title fight against a prime Shannon Biggs. Lewis is just not on the same level, even with his high number of fight, its hard to see Wlad on the same level as Lewis.

Widdow is way off base when it comes to Lewis. He's spot on when addressing Wlad and Oscar though. You all can learn something from his posts about those two, but he needs to STFU about Lewis. :yep

Lewis has an impressive reign as champion.

I think he may be irritated by some of the people that don't appreciate Wlad.

Lennox has the 3rd most title defences all-time, undisputed champion, and beat every man he faced.

He is one of the best.

I am only speaking the truth. I have stated that Lewis is without a doubt, a top ATG. I have stated that he does have some impressive wins, and he had an overall great career. However... his title reign wasn't all that impressive, and he didn't fight any of the top 5 boxers of his own era during their primes. What I am saying is the truth, I don't know why people are acting like it isn't. People are arguing with me... yet agreeing that his title reign wasn't that impressive. So.. exactly why are the they arguing with me and acting like I am acting crazy?

On sheer ability, Lewis was a beast. There is no getting around that... and I have NEVER acted like he wasn't a great boxer.

See the difference? I actually GIVE credit to fighters that I am debating against... they don't have that ability. It's all or nothing for them.
