Saw that, it's in an article on ESPN too.

--Yvonne Benitez tells The Associated Press that her brother will remain under observation for 72 hours. She said Friday that the family is awaiting medical tests results but that Benitez is doing well and reading newspapers and magazines.--

Maybe his earlier drug habits caught up with him?

Still wish him the very best, hope he can recover.

He was my dads favorite fighter. Everytime i would come home from the gym he would always say benitez had the most talent he ever seen. Boxing is a brutal sport

Blows your mind to think he dethroned a great, established champion for his first title, then had to go back to high school...........damn.

Between him and the health issues surrounding Norris, Norton, Morrison and some other fellows, as well as all the guys we've lost this year, 2012 is looking cursed for boxing fans. But, when you take under account just how many fighters there are and have been, I suppose statistically we're bound to get all this. Still, 2009 and 2012... Fokin' 2009 and 2012.

I cannot even imagine how much high school arse he tapped after that.
