we know the fight is happening, but will they sanction it?do they not have any obligations with mandatorys? cheers
Of course they'll sanction it. There's no way this fight would have came off without the belts on the line.
well not if there is a mandatory standing in the way i would imagen there would be somesort of objection. The ibf are pretty bad for stripping title holders aernt they....i dont know mate just looking for clarfication
I think that Povetkin (IBF mandatory challenger,) is meant to have a date fixed for his challenge sometime around September, so if Wlad wins he can arange to fight him next. If Haye wins he wont be able to fight Povetkin due to his rematch clauses and will get stripped of the IBF belt around that time. The IBO don't have mandatories. I don't know about the WBO mandatory, I don't think there is any clarity on that yet. When I heard Haye being interviewed he thought he might still have that belt after the rematches but that's a long time away so things could change.
Wlad's last 2 fights were mandatories, WBO (Thompson) and IBF/IBO (Rahman) respectively....he has Povetkin lined up as the next IBF mandatory by September. The WBO I think is allowing him 15 or 18 months between mandatories due to being a "Super Champion". So there's no problems on Klitschko's side. :good Haye is a nobody in the heavyweight division, so no obligations for him. He's rated #2 by WBO and #10 by IBF. All's good on Hayes side also. Fight will be sanctioned without a doubt. Hope that clarifies it for you.
