    True. Williams fought the better opposition overall. And he was almost impossible to score a stoppage win against.

    I saw James toney's first meeting with sanderline Williams on TV which resulted in a draw. But it was so long ago I can't remember weather or not I agreed with the decision or anything about the fight for that matter.. But yes, Williams could take on some very good fighters and battle them on close terms.

    Johnson was a good fighter, nice guy it seemed too. Not everyone can be a champ or even be top tier, but Johnson had talent and could fight

    Johnson was a tough cookie. Had a few fights on NBC back in the day. But my main memory of him was getting annihilated by pre Hagler John "Beast" Mugabi.

    remember Williams fighting benn when he first went to the states.benn was expected to ko Williams but boxed and won on points this fight was not well received.

    The Beast on the way up. (Sat/Sun afternoon fights on ABC, CBS, and sometimes NBC......great days.)

    Carlos Tite and Dan Snyder were a bit better than "clubfighters" to be fair. Vampire was probably not a real contender, but a "B" level fighter with skills and heart who could main event shows and sell tickets. Nothing wrong with that.
