I like Wilder, im convinced that he is convinced that he is the man and wants the big fights, the rest of his camp know differently and have worked thier backsides off to steer him down the easier roads. Cant always do it but when the time came to face a real top heavyweight the Russian went and screwed it up. Wilder was left feeling frustrated while his camp felt like they had just won the lottery on thier birthday. Biggest problem being the WBC want to keep that belt in America where the Boxing fans seem to be getting ripped off the most and they get a better income. If there was a better American heavyweight than Wilder right now that WBC belt would be round his waist by now.
He was ranked # 3 at the time, according to TBRB. He remains the only fighter who was rated Top 10 at the time when he faced Deontay.
