20 Million is a good pay out. So is the 7 for Ortiz, That should not be laughed at or mocked. But if we can be realistic about it somebody at Fox or the PBC is going to take a big hit in the pocket here paying these 2 out. And if you have to take a loss then you over paying the fighter and if you are over paying the fighter that much that doesnt make Wilder a 20 million Dollar fighter, its just makes his handlers crazy. Wilder should get getting paid what his worth is for the event. Him and Ortiz are getting paid money that is belonging to a fight that sells out its tickets and brings over 1 million PPV buys. So good on Wilder for getting that much but lets not get carried away about his worth. If i pay $6000 for an old rusty BMX that doesnt mean the BMX is worth $6000 it just means im an idiot.
Don't care . He's still going to get grandaded tonight. He'll need those dollar bills to mop up his tears.
@ellerbe just read it and good for them. Especially Ortiz who they would of really screwed over if this offer was as previously suggested. I reckon they'll be taking a bath on this one though and hoping both Deontay and Andy win for an in house unification but hey, no skin off my nose.
How could they justify giving Joshua these type of PayDays to fight guys like Molina who'd been KTFO in 1 round by Arreola?? Or fighting domestic opponents noone outside of the UK's 90 million people (Less than 1% of the planet) knew or cared about?!? Where did the money come from in a financially strapped small country? People give up their Tea and Crumpets for a month to afford Hearn's overpriced PPV to watch Joshua fight a Cherry Picked Highlite Reel KO Victim? It's even sadder after the Blob destroyed their Hero on his first step outside of his UK Controlled Safe Space!
His reporting is solid. His analysis is putrid, but he's a good reporter. Besides, you didn't need Dan to tell you that the official number does not represent the *real* number. This topic has been done to death on the forum, but people still get it wrong.
