Either Zhang walks him down and KHTFO or he's extra cautious and Wilder walks him into a fight ending straight right a la the Ortiz KO. This is actually an intriguing and winnable fight for The Ayahuasca Bomber.
It’s a great fight and I think Wilder has a solid shot of beating him. Zhang is not a mover and is there to be hit. Equally he’s a destructive puncher and he could very well spark Wilder out. I think Wilder still has something left in the tank and this would be an intriguing contest.
If the 21st century King Kong couldn't withstand the Alabama Slama, do you believe this puny Zhang could? Wilder via scintillating right hand knockout! For the culture!
Styles make fights and i think Zhang is a better match up for Deontay than Parker. Wilder has serious trouble with guys who can move (even if this is limited) and have fast hands.
I don’t think there is one guy n the division that beats everyone, there are probably 4-5 top fighters who if they all fought each other none would be undefeated at the end, and wilder even though he lost to Parker is still in that top five.
Joyce has a pretty sturdy chin and Zhang was able to knock him right the hell out by the end of the third in their second meeting. Wilder was put on his ass by the end of the third on two different occasions by Fury, who isn't regarded as a heavy puncher. Of course Zhang and Fury's styles are pretty different overall, and styles make fights as the saying goes, but one similarity is deceptively fast hands, and given Zhang's carry a lot more power in them, it doesn't look great for Wilder. To Wilder's benefit however, Zhang isn't much of a mover himself, so I'm sure he could land something, even with his telegraphed to hell right. That said, Zhang doesn't seem to have a bad chin, so it would take more than one to do the job, and his guard is pretty good. Given the aforementioned telegraphing, I believe Zhang would be able to keep it from landing the amount of times needed to put him down and keep him there. It would be a hell of a fire fight, very tense til the final blow puts an end to it, but I gotta back Zhang by knockout in rounds 3-5. But hey, you never know with heavyweight boxing, all it takes is one punch. Regardless of how it turns out I'd love to see this action, hoping it gets made
It depends on which version of Wilder we will see IMO. If he is willing to suffer then I think he is capable of getting the victory, Wilder has shown he is really good at landing the right on southpaws somehow. Would absolutely love to see the Wilder of the old again.
