If they lose those fights, there's no harm done. It makes sense to "build up" as many potential fights as possible, and focus on building up the most attractive box-office fight down the road.
The alternative is just to do nothing, and wait until the fight is the next one up, or actually arranged, and THEN build it up, which is not how it's done. That would make less sense.
    Long-term planning is better. :good

My post wasn't so much about the building up of the fight per say, but rather the clamoring by these guys to want to fight each other NOW. Which is impossible as they both have fights lined up but everyone there seemed to forget that. Of course the idiotic public will buy into any hype however unsubstantiated or unlikely but it doesnt mean I dont get to call BS on it!

I thought that if a unification bout was on offer then Wilder's mandatory could be waived. But I can't see Wlad letting Tyson fight before they get in on unification or not on the line!

Make of it what you will.

People criticise Fury, but his antics have taken him to the top of the tree, and like him or not, he's backed up all his talk.

I love the Irony of a man who hasn't fought anybody with a pulse after 36 fights, calling Fury a phoney ????

Tyson had obviously had a few, and did what he normally does.

Wilder came back with his Baptise comment, but looked visibly shaken to me in the following interview.

just shows with all these titles (WBA Super, WBA Reg, IBF, WBC, WBO, IBO and all interim belts that many promoters try and make em sound like full world titles). For me Povetkin BEATS Wilder (who has been ver unimpressive as world champ) any good boxer will pick holes in him. Fury Vs Wlad is a serious 50/50 Fight as i think wlad will throw the right hand more. Haye back in the mix and martin winning IBF its interesting but id of personally liked to have seen Wilder Vs Fury for all titles
