AJ is gun shy. Last time he tried to let his hands go, he lost. If Joshua boxes scared for 12 rounds Wilder will eventually hit him with the big right hand. Joshua moves back in a straight line and is easy to hit.
How'd those things work out for him in his last fight? Post Ruiz I, Joshua no longer has the heart or the balls to go toe to toe like he did with Wlad: he is gun shy and tentative. These "combinations" you speak of consist of a straight right hand followed by a left hook. If he hits as hard as many people assume he does, he would've stopped Usyk; instead, he was completely befuddled and even bullied on the inside by Usyk, and rocked several times. Heck, the non gunshy version of Joshua couldn't even drop Michael Sprott, much less knock him out. Also, Joshua didn't look too chipper on the back foot in that final round when Usyk put it on him, backed him to the roles and almost stopped him. Joshua is hardly an Ali 1964-1967 defensive wizard, and isn't exactly durable. So even if Wilder has been stripped of his prime as a result of his last two fights, he will still likely need to land only one massive right hand and Joshua will fall apart at the seams mentally. Wilder will be there to be hit, sure enough: but will Joshua gamble? I suspect not. Wilder will drag Joshua into a dog fight, catch him going backwards in a straight line with at least one massive right hand, and will cause Joshua to crumble mentally if he doesn't iron Joshua out first.
So you’re using a loss to Olexander Usyk, one of the best boxing IQs in the game, to justify Wilder being able to outbox Joshua? AJ doesn’t need to be Ali to out box Wilder, he’s leagues ahead of Wilder in pure boxing terms by just being Anthony Joshua. If, and it’s an ‘If’ I also put in my original post, Joshua is capable of going back to his more aggressive style then he will destroy Wilder inside 5 rounds and quite possibly even quicker. Joshua has infinitely heavier hands than Fury, he is a natural 244lb not a blown up 238lb so he will bully Wilder in the clinches but most importantly he has enough boxing ability to get his power punches home. Wilder will not stay upright if he gets hit by Joshua, he doesn’t have the chin
