Let me ask you a question or two A lol. Excuse my laughter.

When did Whyte become good to you? I mean good enough to the point that Wilder is accused of "ducking" him lmao.

And second, when did Breazeale become good? Now I'm not saying that they are bad because I respect them as fighters, but doesn't it sound like Joshua fans trying to overrate these two guys because Joshua fought them? Haha lol.

 

They arent that good, but compared to the level that Wilder has fought they are a small step up.

I think Wilder would probably beat them both.

 

Well Whyte must be good because your boy spent 3 months avoiding a career high payday only to fight a fat slob who hadn't ever trained for two years...

If you boy is running there must be a reason....

Breazeale isn't that good, you saw what AJ did to him but he does have a heart and doesn't fold like a deck of cards once he get hurt...

I would expect neither to beat Wilder but Wilder seems to be unwilling to fight these type of guys. He much rather fight fat slobs who fold like a deck of cards once punched..

 

I think the appeal with Whyte is that he's consistently in your face trying to apply pressure, a style that Wilder has shown vulnerability to. I don't rate Whyte very highly at all but I think his style is a good match with Wilder. I think TBH it'd be a good scrap that's entertaining enough to warrant a match. But i don't really see the necessity for Whyte and Wilder to fight before he fights AJ

 

I never thought much of Whyte, I thought he'd be grossly overmatched against AJ coming into their bout 2 years ago. And aside from one scary moment, I think I was right. I've also been quoted saying that Filip Hrgovic and Joe Joyce(2 prospects with 3 pro fights between them) would both beat Whyte RIGHT NOW. So yeah, he's been the most overrated around here lately.

Second, Breazeale is probably a touch overrated by AJ fans, but I like to think people like him because he's a guy who fights anyone, gives it his all and always makes for entertaining fights. I mean, what's not to like about him? lol

 

As far as the odds for pulling the upset goes, you're right. Breazeale has a better chance at turning it into a dog fight and scoring a stoppage(although a slim one).

But if you're talking about their chances against a Wilder who fights fully disciplined and works behind a jab, than Szplika, with his better skillset, better athleticism and awkward movement would stand a much better chance at holding his own.

 

Unfortunately for Whyte, while he probably will get his title shot at some point, he isn't good enough to beat any of the champions IMHO.

 

I think Szpilka has been exposed almost entirely since the Wilder fight. Wilder made him look good rather than him actually being it IMO.

 

Nice to see ruiz at 4. and Oscar at 9 and kownacki at 14... all 3 decent prospects and I think all 3 give wilder some trouble.

 

He earned it imo.. Now it' time to get knocked out by Mr. WILDER!

 

Ruiz Jr could be a more difficult stylistic match-up for Wilder to be honest. Comes in low and covered up, and has decent pop ... Parker has a good chin but didn't like coming out worse in the close exchanges so went behind his jab and got a close decision. In theory Wilder can do the same but he would need to stay disciplined.

 

yea.. a determined ruiz jr is a treat and tough fight for any heavyweight.. very underated.

 

is it me or does Ruiz Jr have the fastest hands of all current heavyweights?

I remember watching him vs Parker and felt impressed with his hand speed. seems faster than Parker, Joshua & Wilder imo.

 

Yes, he is easily the fastest of those.

Parker was close but looks a bit slower recently, KB said that the extra weight he's put on has hurt his speed so they're going down in weight.
