Those lunging punches were only thrown after Audley had been incapacitated & so couldn't possibly counter. Four of Wilder's first 5 punches landed flush.

The final 2 shots shouldn't have been thrown, true, but When you're directly on top of an opponent, you can't tell if he's taken a knee or simply ducking down. - It's the ref's job to stop the action. The fighter's job is to close the show.
