Cunningham is a former world champion who in all fairness clearly outpointed a top 10 contender so yes.
Chisora would be too much- Lost to TOP ten T. Fury Beat top ten R. Helenius Lost to number 3 guy Vitali Lost to number 2 guy Haye Maybe end of the year or early 2014-
It would be! Fury wants a title fight! He wont get it with fighting a guy like Wilder who proved NOTHING. I bet Johnson would school Wilders ass! Why dont fight Johnson? Wilder could make a BIG statement if he could stop Johnson... But at the end we all know Wilder has nothing special to offer. Except this long and powerful right hand. But this is just not enough to be great.
There was never any chance of Wilder taking the fight. Chisora is a fringe contender after the loss to Haye and Vitali, Wilder is still a novice and prospect rather than any kind of real contender. The gulf in experience is huge between these 2 it would have been a huge risk to have suddenly thrown Wilder in against Chisora. In fact the fight would have been a step down for Chisora in an attempt to rebuild after recent losses. I wouldn't call this a duck because the gulf in level between these 2 is too big for this fight to have ever been likely to come off. It would be like Hughie Fury calling out Chisora and then Chisora not taking the fight and it being called a duck. Wilder is at least 2 years away from being ready to be thrown in at this level if he is ever ready that is.
