Wilder Ducks

Honestly, I'm much more inclined to believe it's Wilder who's been given the runaround. If only because all I seem to be seeing and hearing from Wilder's side comes straight from the horse's mouth, whereas it's always Hearn as mouthpiece for Joshua's end of things.

The problem with that is Wilder comes across as bonafide while everything from Hearn sounds like lawyerspeak. That's not a knock on Hearn, I'm sure if it was Finkel doing the talking then Hearn would be coming across as much more human.

If I had to guess, this whole situation's a mixture of power plays that've backfired as Wilder and his people clearly know how much the fight's really worth and Hearn hasn't been able to rig the variables in AJ's favour without paying the difference. The bending has all come from Wilder and the desire to make this Joshua's next fight clearly isn't as high of a priority for Hearn as it is for Wilder. At least that's the impression I've taken from everything.

The whole situation's a black mark on Joshua. The kind that you really don't want to carry into the biggest fight of your career when it's finally made. The saving grace is that he's fighting Povetkin instead. After the cringeworthy 2 fight offer made to Wilder, if Joshua were fighting a no-mark it would've looked unforgivably suspect.

 

Povetkin is the WBA's mandatory and ranked number 3 behind Joshua and Wilder if Wilder doesn't defend against him he gets stripped of his WBA belt,and he wants all the belts. I've never been a Wlad fan, but I thought he put up a courageous and entertaining fight against AJ. imo The reason he didn't follow up when he had Aj in trouble was that he was gassed.
Wilder is the most dangerous opponent out there for AJ and vice versa.Wilder has awesome right hand power and a decent jab but he has lots of flaws,he only punches long ,is sloppy, a poor finisher and very innacurate,he also does not have any variety in his punching arsenal.
In his only real test he was taken to the brink,fair play he gutted it out,but AJ hits harder than Ortis is quicker,bigger,and younger.

You could equally say if AJ gets Wilder in the trouble the way Ortiz did, he fnishes the job!
Whether Wilder beats those you mentioned isn't the point he hasnt faced them! He has been feasting on secondtier opponents and he has now had 40 fights!
AJ beat the **** out of Breazeale in only his 17th fight!
Plenty of unheralded challengers have given Wilder trouble, lets not pretend he only has to land one right hand and they topple!
Bottom line if he is that good ,if he is all you say he is, why hasn't he fought anyone of any class except for Ortiz who gave him life and death?
Those men you described as "scrubs" are better quality opponents than all but one of the challengers Wilder has opted to defend against! YES OR NO? Fat Arreola.Fat Stiverne.Washington? WTF is he? Duhaupas?
Can we get serious here!
Wilder's "reign" has been a joke!
He can't even sell out his Alabama arena!
AJ sells out 90,000 arenas he is a multimillionaire!
At the moment Wilder is getting all his publicity on the back of Joshua,he can't even headline a ppv in his own country!

At 32 with 40 fights under his belt Wilder ain't getting any better, in contrast AJ is still improving and he has had half the fights.
One is prepared to take on the best, one is hiding and has just refused a career high $15,000,000, $12,5m more than he has ever earned for a fight!
Plus an optional $5000,000 to fight an opponent of his own choosing!

Bottom Line.
Wilder will defend his paper crown against Breazeale the man who did not win a round against a younger, greener AJ before he was brutally stopped.The man you just described as a scrub!!!

We just have to agree to disagree......Ortiz life and death ? He knocked him down ,later out and Wilder never hit the deck or got a count....a little flurry on the ropes and that is life and death to you.....you know better then that but let your obvious bias towards AJ blind you.

Fact, Wilder is this generations Marciano, he looks soooooo easy to beat from the outside but it changes dramatically once you step i nto the ring with him, yes he is sloppy, yes he is very unorthodox but it works for him perfectly.......piston jab, endless stamina, fast feet/hands, genuine one shot KO power , immense confidence without acceptance of loosing ever, maybe not granite but strong chin all in a 6'7 package........that is the reason AJ/Hearns dont want to get near him anytime soon.

Aj is extremly chinney, has poor stamina (will not improve ever in a fast paced fight, it is what it is) and is stiff with zero head movement.........Wilder will clock him , no doubt, he might even be behind once he lands.

Seriously, out of Whyte, Takam, Parker and Breazeale who would beat Wilder, in your opinion ?

I actually like AJ and Hearn but he is a natural born bullsheister and its him who has blocked this fight....like i said as soon as Povektin fought on Matchroom card it was AJs next fight....Once Wilders team came up with the offer it was all distract and deny from Hearn...

And offering Wilder $15 million flat fee is basically saying they dont want the fight anyway

Joshua's promoter claimed on an IFL interview that the bid was legitimate and now it was down to Joshua whether he wanted to fight. He chose not to.

 

$15million is 12.5 million more than Wilder has ever earned for a fight,he was also offered a further optional $5million for a fight in which he could name his own opponent this again would be twice as much as he has ever earned for a purse[Ortiz] he usually gets about $1million.The contract and conditions have been displayed on You Tube, as has his refusal calling it crack head money.If $20million is crackhead money what is the $ 1million he usually gets?
