Whilst I agree AJ is obviously the A side if they fight at Wembley, an AJ- Wilder fight would generate considerable more interest then Povetkin and say a Whyte rematch. It would smash the PPV record, Hearn/sky will no doubt up the PPV cost and the tickets will be like gold dust, sponsorships deals everything’s goes through the roof. If all goes to plan, the fight will be mammoth next year - only a fool would commit to a purse now. Hearn knows that, but it makes him look good to be challenging Wilder to “just sign the contract” especially as He and AJ have beeen coated in the states over the $50m offer duck. A good compromise would be if they both signed an agreement in principle to fight in April whilst continuing where the left off in negotiations although I don’t know how feasible that is in this type of business model.
The $50,000,000 duck isn’t entirely true though. People seem to forget that post Parker AJ said any fight with Wilder had to be in the UK, that was before any amount was talked about.
