I was thinking Maskaev too. This is at least better than that.

I was expecting Liakhovich or Maskaev, I guess this is the better of the 2. Liakhovich is not completely shot but he has lost his last 2 fights.

It's a small step up from Audley but definitely a step up. We really shouldn't expect a big jump up in class anytime soon. Wilder needs to think before he speaks, Liakhovich is clearly not a top contender as he alluded to.

Wilder might gain something from this fight because his previous opposition has been so dire. Liakhovich should be able to take him a few rounds instead of folding in a round or two like the rest of his over matched opposition. Liakhovich will at least try and win, unlike Audley.

    1- He's not Russian.
    2- He's not strong.
    3- He lives in Arizona.
    4- He's beyond shot.
5-He has already been beaten by Bryant Jennings and Rober Helenius.

I don't see what's so bad about this? It's about the type of fights Wilder should be getting right now. A former past it titlist, if Wilder manages to get him out of there in a few rounds it would be impressive.

What? Wilder will face another weak opponent thats bad about it. A guy who got ****ed up in his last fight against Helenius. There wont be anything impressiv if Wilder takes him out! Not at all. He is past prime, maybe even "shot" after the Helenius fight and never was that great to begin with. This is another opponent for Wilder to look good.
Wilder said it will be a better guy than Chisora...:patsch:patsch:patsch
When will Wilder face a good heavyweight? At least it is a step up but I would be suprised if Liakhovich still has something left.

This is a very good match up for Wilder and a tremendous step up

Sure Liahovich isnt where he was but he might have enough to be a real challenge

He fought Helenius really tough, possibly was even ahead at the time of the stoppage

he has never been blown out or stopped early

this is the perfect Wilder opponent a guy that will take him rounds and make him fight

Wilder should have fought him 10 fights ago. Liakhovich now has not fought for more than a year.

So he's neither Russian or better than Chisora.

Chisora would be to much of a step up for Wilder at the moment. Think about it Chisora has been with some good people like Haye, Vitali and Fury. Hes got a really good chin and could take Wilder the distance. Wilder has never been the distance before so I think maybe one or two more fights and then Chisora.

Agreed Chisora would be too much of a step up at this moment in time. Wilder has yet to face a fighter that actually came to him believing they could win, so far he's really only faced guys who were their to lose and knew it. Chisora would put up a fight that Wilder would not be prepared for because he hasn't had a competitive fight since his amateur days.

He may have had a bunch of fights but they are meaningless he's really at a level of a boxer who's been a pro for a couple of years only and just fought an 8 rounder, his progress has been stifled by being fed journeymen for years and it would be a mistake to suddenly go from this level to fighting a contender like Chisora.

He needs to step up his opposition gradually over time, he wasted a couple years fighting nobodies he should have been stepping up to this level back in early 2011 but it's too late to change that now. Best not rush it now that they have finally decided to move his career to the next level.

**** Wilder. Liakhovich hasn't been considered a contender for like 10 years and he can't take a punch anymore. Garbage fight.

Great point. We seen what happend to Price. I still to this day don't know why the matched Price against TT. And the rematch is a mistake as well. He had everything to lose and nothing to gain. You don't just jump in the ring with someone that has been boxing as long as TT after fight nothing but bums. For the sport I hope Price wins this time. At least he has the balls to step back in there with TT but if he loses his career is over.
