Chambers, Chagaev, Takam, Byrd, Huck, Perez. It's a very respectable list of names. Even discounting Charr who you're basing your argument upon.
Takam and Perez would clearly be, at worst, the second and third best wins of Wilders' career. And they would be head and shoulders above every win other than Stiverne, which they are close to equal to. Povetkin's last maybe 4 victories could very well be greater than Wilders' entire 35 fight career. And I agree. His best wins are Chambers-Byrd-Chagaev.
Charr is awful, I'll give you that. The fascination this forum had with Charr was so puzzling and frustrating to me.
Stylistically Povetkin is a bad matchup for Wilder, because he has a punch and a chin and great combinations. Lawd, if Sasha gets in close he will lump Wilder up so badly he'll look like a plate of cookies.
This. Wilder is not good at holding. Povetkin throws massive combos with good accuracy. Stylistically Wilder can't handle Povetkin. Wilder needs a lucky punch, and early on. Round 1 or 2. If the fight goes beyond the opening round Wilder is a dead man walking.
Nope. Wilder has much more natural talent than Vlad. What Wilder lacks is experience, and that is the only attribute Vlad has over Wilder, experience, weight, size. Wilder's peoples are doing the right thing by taking time to allow Wilder to get the expereince he lacks. That way he won't be like Vlad and get experience visiting the canvas by KO multiple times early in his career. Polvetkin will be a good match-up for Wilder., but be real. Povetkin is a come forward pressure fighter, but he is far from being a Mike Tyson. His fight with Mike Perez tells you nothing because when I watched it, it looked like a fix to me.
