What I find funny is that most of the people who back Wilder, are the same whos who berate the Klitschkos and complain about the state of the HW division... Pretty hypocritical to complain about the Klitschkos and/or about the supposed lack of good HW's but at the same back a crude glass jawed joke like Wilder..

Has Wilder even fought a top 20 HW? When the kid beats a live body, wake me up.

i complain about the klitchkos but its more to do with their fighting style, i appreciate that they are the best at what they do but its not pleasing to watch and as a paying customer i feel im within my rights to have my say if i dnt like something i pay for, im not however deluded and atm if wilder was to be put in against a klitchko he would more than likly get ko'd but hes fun to watch, hes a hw who knoks poeople out, weather their bums its irrelevent to me at the moment its just more fun to watch than a 12round hugathon

Despite the stoppage, Firtha showed some serious grit against Fury. That said, inactivity is going to hurt him a lot against Wilder.

A university professor should know how to correctly use the word 'literally' :-(.

Thats the truth. Firtha aint no lay down fighter. He's tough, has a solid beard, but as far as journeymen go, he's been horribly inactive. He does have a fight recently against another tough journeyman, Robert Hawkins, but from I heard bout the fight, they hardly threw the leather.:rofl

Wilder is the epitome of what's wrong with boxing. It's all politics and has nothing to do with ability. There was even a thread about Marciano vs Wilder. I think Marciano could make Wilder cry, that's how much of a mismatch that fight would be, yet there were fervent fans ashing Wilder's size would enable him to win.

It's true.

That is where it's at for me. It's fine taking your time and whatever, but he was basically gifted pretty high world rankings for fighting no-hopers and beating them.
At that rate, all he has to do is continue to fight bums and sooner or later he'll be a mandatory. I personally think he's waiting for the K brothers to retire.

I've got nothing against he guy and God know the heavyweight division needs some fresh blood, but I also feel like team Wilder have been ridiculously cautious and Wilder simply does not deserve to be world ranked yet.

Unfortunately the division is so bad, that through attrition he's gotten ranked.

Anyway, Firtha is a tough guy and I hope he'll stretch Wilder a bit.

He's an utter joke.

Even more so that he keeps DUCKING opponents in favour of knocking out bums. Just look at how he ducked Chisora. Blaming visa issues yet, a few weeks later, could come over to spar with Haye?

PATHETIC.

And this is the "great black hope" Americans are putting their hopes on? Sadly I can see him winning a world title. Wilder will keep fighting BUMS until the Klitschkos retire, then manage to get a shot for one of the vacant belts against a BUM opponent like Mitchell or Arreola :(

Good point. No-one bitched when Fury fought Firtha or Rogan lol. If he has not stepped up by next summer then fair play but he is on the edge of a big fight I feel.

Tye fields vs. Nicolay Firtha:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vW-tDoTfomg

- Tyson Fury is YOUNGER, age 25 to Wilder's age 28

- Fury had less high-level amateur experience than Wilder

- Fury was 15-0 when he fought Firtha, Wilder is 29-0

Wilder is a "brand" not a boxer. He is a carefully marketed money making machine for the people behind him. With Vitali likely to move on don't be surprised if Wilder gets manoeuvred into a shot and makes his people a lot of money.

An American fighting for the world title again, with a "realistic" (if you listen to the hype) chance of winning as he KOs everyone? Well hell that will sell a lot of PPV on US TV, the casual fan will be interested then.

THAT is the one and ONLY purpose of Deontay Wilder.

But he's not even generating any money. He barely fights on T.V and he doesn't fight in big arenas or anything. You see a few articles about him now and then, but other than that it's mainly just folks on these boxing forums that pay him any attention. You're talking about him being a PPV attraction, but he's not even headlining fights on regular TV.
