I think you summarized it well. These guys that run around with entourages says a lot about who they are. Hyping a fight is one thing but for Wilder to say I want DB's son in the ring so he can look into the eyes of the man who crippled his dad is a special kind of sickness. Not interesting, not foreboding, just sick. I had been somewhat on the fence with Wilder up until now, willing to cut him some slack because people can say things in the heat of the moment, but no more. The guy has defined himself.

 

Yes there's a line that shouldn't be crossed when talking trash about your opponents, and Wilder's gone over it too often for anyone to cut him any slack anymore. His words betray the mind of a psychopath, someone who feels no sympathy for anyone but himself, and I honestly don't think he's acting at this point. These aren't heat of the moment words, or brash statements done on a grand stage for grand purposes; they're the quiet words of a man chatting conversationally on a local radio station, stating equally conversationally that he'd like to get the son of a man he wants to fight to look into his eyes and know he crippled his daddy.
