Never really thought too bad of wilder and wanted him to keep fighting after Fury and do well

But he's proven himself to be a dumb POS, so yeah he can retire.

Deontay will retire with that shiny green belt around his muscular waist. Tyson Fury and bodybuilder Joshua. Sorry don't waste the bomb squads time, it all ends after tonight!

Unlikely. There's always a time afterwards to cash out on a career heading downwards.

He won't retire. Assuming he loses he can still get a few decent paydays and even win some fights.

Naw, if Fury will finish him, he will get maybe OrtizIII fight, then might lurk maybe Arreola will be enough suitable etc.

If he will win vs Fury: next 5 years will milk belt again and fight not big names. Like previously he already had did during 5 years.

I dare say this would be more accurate if you replaced the "and" with an "or".

Wilder himself isn't a big PPV draw, never has been - guys like Whyte and AJ would represent his best possible paydays after this, but he's routinely ducked both of them because he's aware his odds aren't that great...
So does he cash out and take fights that are 50/50 or 60/40 fights (one way or the other) and risk further L's, or go back to fighting cans for mediocre purses?

Without the belt to strongarm the splits in his favour, his earning potential is going to be down either way.

Nah, he'll get the same judge back to imply a rematch clause into the contract, 'give the ex-champ another chance, only fair, what if Lennox Lewis didn't get four attempts at Rahman?'

Will be interesting to see where AJ and Wilder go with their careers should they both lose these rematches. AJ still probably beats the majority of the top 10 though, whereas with Wilder they are real live fights, which he has generally avoided for the majority of his career, Fury and Ortiz aside.

    If Wilder wins, I reckon there’ll be a 4th and 5th fight.
If Wilder loses, I expect him to retire or at the least take easy fights. Losing to the likes of Joshua, Whyte or any other top 10 fighter will jeopardise his legacy.

He can probably make money selling twerking videos on onlyfans to his large gay fan base.
