Wilder should not go anywhere near Fury this summer. He shouldn't watch the late night appearances Fury will be making over the next few weeks, he shouldn't go to his restaurant in London, he shouldn't even watch Snatch. That was an epic beatdown, and there was legit concern in the movie theatre I watched it at over the last few rounds. Wilder should take a few soft touches in Tuscaloosa and see where he stands mentally before giving any of the top dogs a thought.

On another note, Otto Wallin's stock went through the roof last night.

I loved watching Wilder take his long overdue beating, but if he goes for a rematch there's a serious danger he could get permanently hurt. If it wasn't for Brealand we might be seeing an Adonis Stevenson or even Abdusalamov situation right now since the rest of Wilder's team appear to be uncaring psychopaths, and Wilder's too dumb to quit on his own merits. Fury's got his number, his email address and his Skype handle; he knows he can outbox him for twelve or manhandle him and stop him early, and knowing how badly he got jobbed on the cards before he'll probably just try to blast Wilder out again.

Plus, if Wilder agrees to a rematch he has to be ready to go by Summer, and frankly I see that as somewhat unlikely. Physically he might be healed but mentally he'd be a mess. Wilder needs to go for a Whyte or Ruiz fight. Those are winnable and would put him back in the mix if he won. After that, depending on the results, he should go for Joshua later in the year.

He's not going to exercise that rematch clause after a stoppage loss. Usually after stoppage losses, especially brutally ones like that, a fighter is directly advised to take at least 6 months off. He will surely exercise that and we will see what will happen after it. He's far from done though, that's for sure.

If he takes the fight and loses again he's lost 3 fights to fury, he needs to switch trainers and begin the slow road back.

After watching that last night dont think it would be responsible to do it so soon after that. What happens if fury does really damage him next time. Blood on their hands imo.

Thats when in an ideal world there should be a sensible boxing board that decides these things instead of promoters/trainers and corrupt organisations.

Wilders trainer let himself down last night. Credit to breland for making the right call at exactly the right time. The judges let themselves down in the first fight. Kenny bayless let himself down. Finkels comments saying wilder should go for the rematch let him down.

These guys have a duty of care. Over and above profit/trying to keep belts. Etc. Theres no room in boxing for corruption or bias or putting yourself before the safety of a fighter. Wilder was done last night. Beat from pillar to post...its clear the last thing he needs is a summer rematch with fury.

Thought bayliss was terrible last night. These guys need to really start asking themselves if their refeereing for the right reasons. Its a massive responsibility...theres no room for bias. He looked genuinely gutted wilder was getting taking apart in there. Gave him every chance going and ended up just prolonging the beating he took.

Not just an american problem....seen worse or just as bad in britain. Its only a slight favouritism a lot of the time....but there shouldn,t be one at all. Your there to referee the fight fairly.

He should drop down the Gypsy levels and take on a Tom Little level gypsy first or maybe a Nathan Gorman level one before he thinks about having a third dance with Fury. The Gypsy King would probably agree to fight him over on his turf again for a third time because that's what real fighting men do. However, he's well and truly in the driver's seat now and he's calling the shots and he'll be even better next time out and if opts to make Bootleg D come over to the UK for that one I can't see any other outcome than another biblical shellacking and stoppage loss for him.

Can you really see that though (Wilder managing to KO Fury)? I just cannot see Wilder improving his game to the point where he could deal with the combination of aggression and skill that Fury threw at him. In fact, Wilder's best chance in an immediate rematch in my opinion is that Fury's partying after his win continues and he goes off the rails again.

He should fight him in wilders home town. Lets his whole family see him get the beating of his life and give wilder big home advantage.

I think he should face Whyte.
A fight he ducked for years while he was a champ. That would be a good fight.

If Wilder is mad enough to activate the rematch clause then he can get beat down again in career ending fashion because I doubt he will get another chance to ever become champ

Whether Wilder does a rematch or not Fury should fight Whyte next and then the winner fights AJ

AJ Fury will be an amazing fight if the Fury of Saturday shows up

There's no way Wilder should rush into a rematch with Fury, the very nature of his defeat on Saturday night should force Wilder into thinking about giving himself an extended break and plot his return carefully. Admittedly at 34 time isn't necessarily on his side but he still has plenty to offer the heavyweight division, I'd steer clear of Fury, certainly for tyhe foreseeable future, take a couple of more comfortable fights before setting up another big showdown perhaps with another title holder at the time.
