Povetkin is more of a top level heavy than Wilder that's for sure. Just compare the resumes.

 

Povetkin's resume is overrated mostly. His best recent scalp in Takam got beaten by a very inexperienced Joseph Parker.

That being said, I'm disappointed in Wilder right now. He's totally dismissed this fight already when this hasn't even been fully resolved. Looked like he just would have sat it out. He needs to suck it up and either wait to see what happens with Povetkin or find another solid opponent.

 

Takam lost a close decision on the road to Parker who along with Joshua are the two best prospects in the division. (Joshua has a belt so maybe he shouldn't be considered a prospect anymore) Takam who Povetkin stopped is a good fighter so, I agree a good win. However Povetkin has several good wins Chagaev when he could still fight. Eddie Chambers when he was a very good top contender. Huck a dominant cruiser champ. Byrd although past prime Povetkin faced him in like his 14th pro fight. Byrd was a nightmare to most heavies to solve. Povetkin has a good resume. Second to only Wlad among active heavies still in contention.
As for Wilder I'm glad you're disappointed. And I know you are a fan of his. Could you imagine guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis or Holmes saying and doing what his team did before the matter was resolved. I can't.

Yes I do. His resume which is what I go with along with recent performance is how I base my judgement. Going by that I rate him clearly above Wilder.

 

It's all good. I don't. And Povetkin didn't either or he would've tested clean and we could've been talking about who won this fight rather than you clowns blaming Wilder for Povetkins use of Meldonium that you clowns say was a political stunt performed by WADA.

 

Never really was impressed with Byrd and Chambers. They just happened to be the tallest midgets in the circus of an American HW division that was terrible at the time, along with guys like Kevin Johnson. The very fact that old Man Holyfield was still competitive in his 40's was a sad testimony to that. And Chris Byrd was absolutely done when he fought Povetkin, same with Hasim Rahman.

As for Wilder, I'm disappointed in him right now, but he could still redeem himself. I'd like to see him either reconsider fighting Povetkin once he gets clean, or another solid opponent.

 

His title reign, he calls himself the heavyweight champion of the world.

I agree about GGG, it's equally annoying we haven't seen him in with a top drawer fighter but the difference is you get the feeling he's up for making the big fights - within his division at least - whereas Wilder is the potentially the most reluctant belt holder in boxing today.
