    No way around it both Molina and Duhaupas were selected to make Wilder shine in big way. (Like a first or second round destruction). He didn't come close to that in fact he struggled at times. Szpilka was selected because Glazkov backed out of a verbal agreement (some people on here reported it was signed and just wasn't announced. They were wrong) at the last moment. Glazkov was chosen because he is small and can't punch. Szpilka is not half as sound technically as Glazkov but he was a lefty and he came to win. He did well and then he got caught cold by a punch he didn't see.
    If I was to grade Wilder's last three performances it would be D-, D, C.
    If I rated his opposition it would be F, F, B-

    Wilder's management know much better than most here of what he's capable of and what's he's not capable of. That explains the entire matchmaking.

    They know he will not turn in big ratings, they know it damages his reputation and his career prospects. But they know any guys better than who they hand-pick and Wilder is at a massive risk of being upset.

    I disagree about the ratings part. Haymon wants or wanted to at least turn Wilder into a star. I think he realizes now though that it's not going to happen for Wilder. Their is a market for an American Heavyweight star. Since the end of Lewis's reign when he defeated a shot Tyson and a faded Hokyfield till now, there has not been one single American HW that could be rated in the top 2 with the dominance of Wlad and Vitali. That is 17 years ago since Holyfield. Insanely long time. That's why Arreola was heavily marketed and why Wilder is. However neither guy is the goods. Right now with Wlad's reign ending the division is wide open but expect someone who hasn't been as forced to the public emerge as a solid pro. Not Wilder

    who knows maybe wilder fights to the level of his oposition same as Holyfield! I think he will win vs Povetkin! Will lose to Fury vs Wlad winner!

    The reason he fought Szpilka is because Povetkin wouldn't step up,even though he is Wilder's MANDITORY:deal
