There is not a cat's chance in hell Wilder beats Whyte. That is the only reason he doesn't fight him. If Joshua want the belt he needs to pay for it. It's simple as that. I don't think he needs it personally he'll still make a killing. However the AJ Vs Wilder fight would be MAX 3 rounds without some significant carrying from AJ. If I were AJ I'd take the fight as it's a lot of money for very little work. What a shame is is that wilder is being played by the WBC for money. He is gonna be cast aside the second he is exposed. One must always remember that Wilder can not box. At all. He is a fabrication by somebody who wants to make money off of The image of an all American HW.

Imo, AJ could go on for the rest of his career fighting the Parkers, Pulevs, etc. of the world and do just fine; and everyone will still see him as the man at heavyweight whereas Wilder on the wayside will always be seen as the second fiddle heavyweight champion.

if that happens, there could be a good chance that Wilder will retire from pure shame.

Criminal that a promoter would hold up a unification of the heavyweight title by saying “the other champion has to fight one of my other guys on my terms or no unification.”

AJ has said he doesn’t want Wilder until 2019 or 2020 at the earliest. Hearn is putting up ridiculous roadblocks. Quack quack.

This. Hearn has invested a lot of money in Joshua. Wilder can destroy everything Hearn built with just one punch. Hearn is going to milk the English audience, who would probably pay a fortune to see Joshua box a broom for as long as he can before risking him against Wilder.

    This.

If Wilder is so bad, if he’s not a risk to AJ, then why not do a unification in the spring?

You can’t convince me that Wilder is less of a draw in the UK than Pulev, Takem or Molina, whom AJ defended against. It’s rubbish to say “Wilder needs to fight in England to make this fight a draw” when those guys have been in the mix and they’ve sold 70K tickets for Pulev/Takem, lol.

Truth is, to be a truly international star and get a bigger cut of even bigger money — maybe to reach that Mayweather/Pac level of a draw — AJ needs to fight in the U.S. to establish himself away from his little island.

I’m not saying AJ-Wilder should be in the U.S. (it’s a bigger draw in the UK) necessarily, but it would make sense as far as AJ’s growth to perhaps become a PPV draw in the USA if he fought in the USA. And to fight Wilder, the American WBC champ there, and win (hey, remember, Wilder haters say he’s horrible and has no chance to beat anyone, so what’s the risk?) would make him a bigger world star.

Instead, we have Steady Eddie putting up ridiculous “you must fight my guy who’s biggest win is a split over Chisora first” and AJ screaming “I can’t be ready to fight Wilder until 2019 or 2020, he has more pro experience than me.” Doesn’t add up on the AJ/Hearn end at all.

watch for the brits to use the "doesn't bring enough to the table" excuse to duck Hrgovic, Dychko, and others in a few years. they are just trying it out on Wilder.

If Whyte is so bad, if he's not a risk to Wilder, the why doesn't Wilder fight him considering:
    A. It's for a purse several times bigger than he's made before
    B. It builds Wilder up to UK fans making a potential Joshua fight even bigger.
    C. Wilder would finally have a top 5 ranked opponent on his resume (as ridiculous as that is)

Seems like Wilder and his team are doing everything they can to avoid Whyte, makes sense as Whyte isn't a total can.
