Helenius is going to get brutalized and I will here to LOL at this thread when he does.

I am rooting for Helenius, anyway.

    Let's examine this claim:

Over 9 rounds Szpilka landed 63 punches on Wilder, 38 power punches
Over 5 rounds Washington landed 30 punches on Wilder, 21 power punches
Over 17 rounds Ortiz landed 123 punches on Wilder, 91 power punches

Over 10 rounds Szpilka landed 89 punches on Jennings, 67 power punches
Over 8 rounds Washington landed 131 punches on Miller, 100 power punches
Over 7 rounds Ortiz landed 128 punches on Jennings, 109 power punches

Fury was more successful at hitting and not getting hit against Wlad than he was against Wilder when using similar tactics. The likes of Chisora and Whyte proved to be much more hittable than Wilder, without posing anywhere near the same offensive threat.

Martin has the skills to outbox Wilder, but he doesn't have the heart to fight through the trenches and get the decision. He almost certainly find a way to lose even if he was boxing remarkably well for long stretches.

NEET, you'll do absolutely anything to bloat the resume of Wilder at this point, it's hilarious.
As much as I'm happy to see Helenius finally get a payday, he went life and death with Kownacki ffs. The fact that Helenius is in the top 3 of Wilder's resume speaks volumes.

True that is probably how it would go. I was thinking the outboxing ability might make him harder opponent for Wilder.

Kownacki was awfully close to hitting his ceiling against Martin and Arreola but he was very confident, hyper aggressive and had sufficient power to roll through faded fringe contenders with durability or stamina problems. Helenius had to soak up a lot of pressure and punishment to win the first fight and he had to overcome the mental barriers of having been stopped in his last significant fight by Washington in his U.S. debut and being an Andy Ruiz level underdog against Kownacki. Had Helenius been in the kind of condition he was against Washington or that journeyman he rematched not too long prior to that I suspect he would have gassed early and been stopped.

19 months later there were big questions whether an inactive Helenius, who had the rematch delayed several months prior and was still a significant underdog, would be in physical and mental condition. It wouldn't have been the first time he'd let himself go after a big win and performed poorly, let alone with a 19 month gap in between fights. But as soon as the rematch started Helenius stamped his authority on Kownacki, demoralised him and administered a beating. Helenius seems to be in the best form of his career or for over a decade at least.

If this year.. Wilder wins and AJ loses do any of you think they will fight?

I think there is a very good chance AJ loses again and what else can he do after that to generate money?

I'm assuming Usyk and Fury will tangle.

So, What else can AJ do? Whyte is absolutely shot to pieces, they are talkkng Whyte Vs Chisora III anyway, AJ has already fought Parker, Ruiz and a few others.

Wouldn't it be crazy if they did fight but neither was a world champion, that 100 million fight that never happened, the unidisputed fight that never happened and they end up fighting on DAZN for no belts.

Wilder is 4 years older than AJ so Wilder’s handlers will be willing to risk cashing him out for great potential reward with an AJ megafight but AJ's handlers will want the even more lucrative Fury fight for all of the belts even if AJ loses to Usyk again. So they'll wait for Fury to come back and beat Usyk, then they'll want Fury to make an undisputed defence against AJ. In the meantime they'll give AJ a tune-up for activity and rebuilding confidence: maybe a rematch with Whyte or Parker. Taking a third loss against Usyk and a fourth against Wilder by brutal KO within 12 months (which would be 4 losses in AJ’s last 6 fights) would diminish AJ's value further and significantly reduce interest in an extremely lucrative potential Fury fight. It could also completely break AJ mentally, compromise him physically and send him into retirement, so avoiding Wilder is the safer option.

I'd like to see Wilder fight Ruiz after Helenius or whoever due to the AJ connection: if Wilder could do a better job against AJ’s conqueror then it might tempt AJ's handlers into making the Wilder fight, especially if they're pessimistic about their chances of getting the Fury fight or getting it any time soon. Maybe a year from now they'll also be more confident about taking Wilder on, who will be 38 or so with even more miles on the clock. Furthermore, a victory over Wilder could be the best way to revive AJ’s reputation and increase their chances of getting the Fury fight. However, Wilder beating Ruiz in devastating fashion could further destabilise AJ psychologically and again discourage his handlers from taking the fight.
