I don’t think it would have done significantly more buys at a lower price point. There’s a limited audience for those mid-level PPVs and not a huge wider audience if it’s lower. If would have had to have done 50,000 more buys to net just $250,000 more dollars if it was price at $50 and I don’t think it would have done that … and certainly not doubled the buy rate.
Al Haymon calling the president right now to get Fury unbanned from the US I thought Wilder said he brought Fury to big time boxing? Wilder's entire career has been mismanaged. You have a 6'7" killer of a KO puncher and nobody cares. It's disgusting and a disgrace. I feel bad for the guy. Imagine if Wilder was in the UK and manufactured by Hearn? I have an iffy feeling they aren't even going to make Ruiz Wilder...they might wait out to see what happens with Fury Usyk. Praying Usyk can slay the big mama dragon.
Hopefully this isn't a shock to anyone. I mean, it's not like Helenius is well known over here, and no.... beating a blobby plodding hypejob like Kownacki twice wasn't quite enough to whet even the most gullible of casual fan's palate. A quick perusal of YouTube Helenius highlights, the vicious KO loss to Gerald Freaking Washington from a straight right no less, probably extinguished any hopes of an upset for most rational fans.
I thought it might get to 100k, so this is a bit disappointing but not surprising. There's only so much appetite for PPVs. And that's with a strong job market; just imagine what's going to happen the next time that softens. Aye aye aye
I thought it would do about 50K. Honestly with all the PPV's this year and the fact that boxing fans trend lower income they are simply going to run out of money to pay for these fights. There are only so many PPV fights and subscription apps (DAZN) they can afford. The idea they will keep buying PPVs all year, especially for fights that are not even competitive, will not work.
