Wilder was far more boring in his last fight vs Ortiz than Joshua was tonight. Don't be blinded by the one right hand Wilder threw. Wilder vs Ortiz Rematch - Wilder landed 35 punches in 7 rounds Wilder vs Fury - Wilder landed 71 punches in 12 rounds AJ vs Ruiz Rematch - AJ landed 107 punches in 12 rounds AJ vs Klitschko - AJ Landed 107 punches in 11 rounds In fact, lets be honest if Wilder didn't have a right hand from god he might be the least interesting boxer of all time!
You are wrong - he would have had some exciting KO losses already if his right hand wasn't such a dangerous weapon. His skills sucks, but he is pretty exciting IMO - having enormous power and questionable chin, he looks like he either scores a huge KO or gets KO'ed himself. So far he is knocking people out, even after being dropped or badly hurt, so he deserves a credit
Excitement 4 real.. About the only fighter today that is dangerous with 5 seconds left last round, down on all cards.
All I know is I never miss a Wilder fight... Is it ugly? Usually yeah. Is it a mismatch? More often than not. Is it boring? Never.
He basically sits there doing nothing until he can fire the right off. He had got worse the last couple of years...
I think AJ has better boxing basics. Has better jab, better footwork more stamina and their chins are on par. But boy does wilder have the power of the gods in that hand. It's not wlad or vitali or Lewis type power that breaks you down and shakes you to the bone it is Tyson and Tua type power it puts you to sleep. I think wilder is terrible but you can't fault his effectiveness
Both are pretty boring to watch back, both are very exciting to watch live. Wilder has the edge of your seat advantage, whilst Joshua can actually a box properly, which I and many others enjoy watching. Joshua also has a more aggressive style and a higher workrate, meaning more action. Both are vulnerable, Joshua moreso, but Wilder gets hit more. Joshua takes on fighters his level, meaning more competitive fights and higher level clashes. Wilder doesn't. BUT - Wilder can literally end any fight in a split second. Watching something that unpredictable live is a different sort of high. I can tell you any day of the week I'd rather watch 20 rounds of Ruiz Joshua 2 than 20 rounds of Fury vs Wilder. And I'd rather watch Joshua vs Klitschko than Ortiz vs Wilder 1. Toss up.
This. Wilder, due to his cautioness and missing a lot because of his lack of world class skill, Wilder is boring on paper. But, because he can end a fight at any time, you really are on the edge of your seat watching him.
