Unsurprisingly Povetkin is the betting underdog. Yet some people on here seem to think a Wilder win will be an upset?
http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=520681 Stiverne was a wide favorite on this forum. So you are wrong.
You new to boxing or something? Just because someone opens as a favorite doesn't necessarily mean they will remain one. Though Wilder as a favorite would be nice.. If for some reason the bookies have him as 2/1 or even wider I may drop some big dough on him. Put my money where my mouth is. :yep
Ummm... I guess you don't gamble much because 99 times out of a hundred a fighter that opens as favorite stays favorite. I've been watching boxing since you were in diapers. Anyway odds changing is irrelevant, this is how the expert ****ysts paid top dollar to call fights see it, even in Russia they think Wilder wins.
Yes they did. And this won't look much different to the Stiverne fight except I think Pov gets stopped late.
I almost put good money on Stiverne as I thought he would win and burst the hype job Wilder was, because he was. Pro boxers thought the same thing. But Wilder boxed brilliantly an ill Stiverne. Putting money on boxing is a risky "business". It is a gamble. You can risk your money on a company by buying stocks and you rarrely loose everything. In boxing, if you loose, you loose it all.
a lot of people (myself included) thought Stiverne was something special because he had fast hands and 1 punch KO power, and that beating Arreola 2x to a pulp made him a top 5 HW
This. Stiverne tries to counter too much and Wilder respected Stiverne's power and just stayed behind his jab to get an easy decision. I think the same will happen to Povetkin, but I don't know if Povetkin will survive the right hand like Stiverne.
''I have been told by some very good sources a couple of things. Bermane Stiverne came into this camp at nearly close to 290lbs. He also spent all week in the sauna last week leading into this bout so he definitely tried to crash his weight down to a certain weight. Third of all, Ken Miller, today when we taped the Ten Count out in Santa Monica, flat out said, on the record, that Bermane Stiverne as of a couple of weeks ago was his own words ''Making it rain with Floyd Mayweather at the strip clubs.'' So when it's all said and done.. and this is on you Bermane... You had possession of the most important title in all of sports still and you just didn't give a damn.'' ---Steve Kim ''The thing that noticed the most and I worried about with Stiverne is, I kept seeing a lot more pictures of him with people and at places other than the gym.'' ---Gabe Montoya 22:23 Stiverne calling for liquids seconds after stepping off the scales at the weigh in [YT]7A8LPn4Z7Dk[/YT]
