I used to do work for both Vitali and Vlad years ago, I have seen all their fights, have them right here. Vitali had the best chin in boxing, he was a true warrior and is now the mayor of the 8th largest city in Europe, Kiev. Vlad was a very good fighter, he won the told medal back in 1996 superheavyweight division, he used to be very agressive, until he started training with Emanual Steward, Steward taught him how to clinch like he did Lennox Lewis, Lewis used to clinch a lot also. However, there is a huge difference between Vlad and SOB, I have never seen Vlad land a low blow on anyone, he used a great jab, in one fight he won it by using his left hand only, won by knockout.....................he held to much against Povetkin, he didn't need to, and he threw Pulez around the ring before knocking him out. He held several titles over the years, his record beats SOB Ward's by far, he almost knocked Joshua out at age 41, had not had a fight in a long time before that one, really good fight. You won't see SOB do that. Vlad did not buy the judges, referees, boxing commission, if he had a fight in Germany he had neutral judges from different countries, something SOB would never ever do! SOB is a cheat, a fraud, a scumbag, I hate cheaters. I have gloves hanging in my gym, one signed by Vitali and one signed by Vlad...............right now they are, as always, doing charity work for the poor, Vitali is repairing the streets, sidewalks, schools, etc. in Kiev, you should look at what he has been doing.................he does not like Trump, because Trump and Putin is not liked in Ukraine, they are crooks.......................sorry to disappoint your heroes Trump and SOB, but that's the way it is...............

Ortiz is actually 78 y.o, he's the one who helped Fidel Castro and Che Guevara to dethrone Fulgencio Batista back in 1959.

I like Wilder and believe he's underrated in this community, but his opposition has been lackluster and his ambition has seemed wanting.

This fight more than makes up for it.

While it's true that Ortiz is old and certainly on the decline, he's still a damn good boxer and a colossal threat to anyone in the division. Even Joshua went with the safer Pulev fight.

Really, there's scarcely anyone better who Wilder could target. So kudos to Wilder -- this is a great fight and he deserves respect for it.

For me Wilder - Ortiz is pretty much just as good as Wilder - Povetkin.

I like destroying Wilder to his fans in pubs.

Usually they agree with me in the end that he has terrible fundamentals, no jab, chicken legs and a crappy nickname.

However, that man can punch. Bailed him out big time against decent contender level Washington.

Gerald Washington and Ortiz are two decent names on a recent resume, assuming this fight happens.

I still think this fight's going to fall through for some reason, so I'll hold back my praise till after the correct man's hand is raised.

Credit to Wilder, I don't know why he'd even take this fight who knows about Ortiz outside the hardcore fans?

Now that you think about it the division is really overrated at the moment. Once Josh and Wilder get it on what other fights do you really REALLY want to see in the HW division? I mean in terms of competition. In terms of drama of course you've always got good old Chisora and fat boy slim Bellew...

That claim of 48 is B.S.. As usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle so if he is reporting 38 he is probably about 43. It is pretty difficult to crve a decade off someone age particularly an athlete.
