Plus the Stiverne Wilder beat was so fat going into training camp he gave himself rhabdomyolysis and spent the next two days in hospital. Wilder beat a version of Stiverne that had eaten himself into oblivion that even Arreola could have beaten. Now that's not Wilders fault but he didn't beat a motivated and fit Stiverne, that Stiverne disappeared after winning the title much like how Buster Douglas Jr wasn't the same fighter who beat Tyson when he fought Evander.
Wilder got a ring rust. He just kept running his mouth without fighting anyone over a year before fighting Parker today. After Fury knocked out Wilder in the third match, the latter fought just one match and one round. Besides, he took Parker lightly.
I was one of those people that thought he'd land the right hand clean. Bare in mind every single opponent that Wilder had faced before, every single opponent, got caught with the right hand and had gone down. Wilder barely threw the right hand and when he did he either missed the target completely or didn't land clean. It was truly bizarre watching him operate in the ring with that smiley thousand yard stare look on his face. There was zero urgency, he didn't get out of first gear, it seemed he didn't want to get out of first gear, that's not how you're supposed to approach a world class boxer with so much on the line. Raising his hand in victory during the score card read out, something clearly not right there. I'm not the only one saying this there's plenty of other pundits saying the same thing. Ultimately, he looked more like a peace loving hipster more so than the ruthless monster we've all grown accustomed to seeing. After watching that match, it's a major disservice to both boxers for people to say something like Wilder is one of the worst heavyweight champions of all time and to say that was a brilliant performance by Parker. Only somebody with a warped perspective of reality would try and create those narratives. All that's doing is shitting on Wilder's legacy in an illogical and unnecessary manner and blowing smoke up Parker's arse and giving him a false sense of conquership.
This is a guy who was a half second away from knocking out Fury in the 1st fight. Loads on these pages talk about Fury being a top 5 ATG, the H2H GOAT etc etc (not me may i add) yet Wilder is the worst ever....but came within a fraction of beating one of the best ever??? U just got to love this group
