The flat fee offer was a low ball offer, Wilder deserves a split that we can agree on, though not sure if the fight is really worth 100 mill, maybe it is, might be more but I think it's a bit speculative and optimistic when we don't know how much interest there really is in the US for this fight.

Wilder/Fury might prove Wilder is a PPV draw, might prove he's a PPV disaster too, until the fight happens and the numbers come in we really don't know. If he does draw as much as Joshua with this Fury fight he definitely deserves 50/50 but again this is all speculation and until he does prove he's a draw any demand for 50/50 is ludicrous.

As for Joshua not having beaten anyone, well what does that have to do with anything. Yes in a perfect world where we all have 12 inch dicks and our GF's look like Margot Robbie the fighters with the best resumes get the most money but in the real world actual economics is what matters. Who had McGregor fought when he got crazy money against Mayweather? Answer nobody it was his debut. But he was a proven PPV draw in MMA just like Joshua was when he fought Wlad. You might not like that fact but it is what it is.

I'm not going to get into the usual name calling you like to get into when people don't agree with you, I'm too old to be descending into such behaviour. I'll just say I doubt we'll ever agree on this subject but that's fine, it really doesn't matter what matters is this fight get's made and we get to see who's number 1.

Splits are about commercial value. Anything else is just noise.

You've conveniently side stepped some issues here to confirm your own opinion here and I've watched the actual interview Warren gave regarding this. So if its regurgitated it's regurgitated by Warren lol.

Wilder's people reached out and asked BT about the fight as they had little knowledge of the UK market as BT instead of saying what they thought it would earn asked to buy the rights as obviously that's what they wanted. And would BT really acquire the rights and then just sell them to their biggest rival? Bollocks would they ever do that and you'd be an idiot to think that was an option.

Yeah his contract may have ended with SKY but honestly do you think Joshua who was linked to Matchroom for so long and done so well was ever going to sign with anyone else? Not a chance.

Agree that Hearn wasn't aware of this when the offer was made so clearly he didn't know where was a problem with the offer, but still doesn't change the fact the offer was one financed by BT a UK company and so again proves how little drawing power Wilder has in the US then that he again had to rely on the UK market to even make that offer. Where was the Showtime money for this deal, answer there wasn't any.

I apologies for the name calling.

It's just very frustrating when one is being very reasonable and dealing with logic and another poster just plucks a fantasy story out of the air and presents it as factual.

You're normally a good reasonable poster just when it comes to this topic your head seems to fall out of the window.

You're right there is no guarantee that the fury vs wilder fight will prove to be a success or that Fury doesn't cause an upset and throw a spanner in the works.

It's like that with anything, but we can judge by the fervor this fight causes on social media and forums, it's one of the hottest discussions in boxing. The media from HBO, Showtime, DAZN and Sky are always speculating on when the fight is going to happen.

So it's not difficult to imagine the wilder vs Joshua fight generates top dollars.

And yes Mcgregor did prove himself before he fought Mayweather. He had reputable wins over Aldo, Mendez and Diaz which cemented his place as a very credible fighter that rightly could demand high fees. His stand up game was the only reason it could be sold over into boxing. Obviously I don't believe him or any athlete is worth 100 million. If he didn't already have a successful career striking in MMA there is no way he'd be have been paid 100 mil. The fight was a crossover simply for that reason alone.

So really it's a poor comparison.

My point is Wilder as just as much of a right to ask for 50/50 as Joshua did against Klitschko, since he's actually been long reigning champion longer than AJ and will now face the lineal champ.

And it's one reason why Hearn is desperate to strike a deal with Wilder before that fight takes place.

Wilder isn't even worth the $15m he was so generously offered.

If he gets the split I will take my hat off to him for winning, although it's more through sheer exhaustion from the other side rather than any negotiating skill.
