Exactly how many fights has Wilder had, that were very short notice for his opponents? Was it by design or necessity? I mean, if the Wilder camp has a venue picked out for a specific date, put money down for it, plan A fell through and plan B is getting another guy in on short notice, that really isn't cheating per say. Now if he intentionally does this, then yes, you are right and justified in calling Wilder a cheat. Just show me a list of fighters Wilder has done this to! If it's 2-3 guys, then you don't have an argument or gripe, 5-10 or more, then you may be on to something!

    Good post.

Basically America is desperate to have a HW champion so there is a whole network of corruption around Wilder to keep him as "champ" despite his very obvious limitations.

Wlder's on as much gear as any fighter in the sport. His little anit PED soliloquy's are the ramblings of a hypocrite doing his fighting in the Court of public opinion.

    Bingo.

It's business and media collusion. In addition I noticed both Showtime and Espn using the same talking points about Wilder, how he is charismatic and talks great trash. I watched him i thought he sounded forced and rehearsed. Dozens of guys sound better and more natural. Networks are selling a package to the public.
His whole career is propped up as a way to make him economically viable in America.
America is the largest market and the powers that be want stars for that market to sell. Manufacturing 101.

Wilder is on peds because he talks about them too much. Just like Floyd was trying to clean up the sport and then gets caught with iv bags in his arms.

The WBC is located in Mexico. Not the U.S.

The only organization located in the U.S. is the IBF. Anthony Joshua is their champ. Not Wilder.

I can't recall the number of times he's done it, but his last five opponents all seemed to have been chosen on very short notice. Here are a couple of announcements. Note the date they appear and the date of the fight. Generally only about one month.

We already know that Arreola and Washington were last minute replacements for Povetkin and Wawrzcyk. These last two are understandable, and in the latter case even preferable, but what's the excuse for the others?

Povetkin was removed from the top of the WBC rankings after he failed tests before EACH of the ONLY TWO FIGHTS he had scheduled in 2016 - against Wilder and Stiverne/Duhaupas.

The WBC left him at the top of the ratings even after the failed test for the Wilder fight. They removed Povetkin when he failed the test for the Stiverne fight and then Povetkin offered the fight to Duhaupas on ONE DAY'S NOTICE.

Povetkin was failing drug tests throughout 2016.

But you know that. So I don't know why it's so confusing.

Joshua's December fight with Molina was announced in November. Joshua's June fight with Breazeale was announced in May. Joshua's October fight with Pulev was announced in September.

Some really big events - like Joshua-Klitschko - get a lot of lead time. The May and September Vegas events get lead time. Most title fights in the boxing world are announced the month or so before.

The sport itself isn't organized enough so all title fights get three months lead time. Did you guys just start watching boxing? This is NOTHING new.

Not on board yet, but you make an interesting point! I need to keep a closer look at the times DW offers a fight and when the fight is actually scheduled. If true, that's some sneaky underhanded nonsense!

I call BS on Ortiz's claim.. there's plenty of options for hypertension that aren't a diuretic. Every boxer knows you can't take diuretics.

Also, a month is plenty of time for an active boxer to get ready for a fight.

That is true. I won't dispute that, I do have an issue with the whole meldonium situation. And the fact Wilder's team flew home before judgement was rendered I let that cloud my judgement. Rest of my statement I stand by, and I'm still confused why Stiverne is still a mandatory when he failed a test, won 1 fight barely, and hasn't fought in 2 years.

Povetkin didn't fail anything before Wilder. Only his most loyal followers believe this to justify in their minds that he didn't actually run like a little ***** because he was too scared to go to Russia.

The fact the WBC didn't strip him for running was enough to say to me that he is their protected champion and this Ortiz rubbish is just more proof.

Remember that VADA cleared Povetkin for the Wilder fight after their tests were off. It was the WBC that would not allow Povetkin to fight Wilder. Wilder begged the WBC to stop the fight with Povetkin before any test by VADA, again, he was cleared by VADA. WBC has to protect their product....................I have noticed that not one of the winos from the alley that Wilder has fought has tested positive because they are not a threat, anyone who is a threat tests positive. I watched the doctor explain the prescription drug he gave Stiverne and he can't understand why VADA would call it a PED. The legal prescription medicine has very little diuretic in it, not enough to cause a problem. Void's IV was serious, but nothing was done, Void's pain shots before his fight with Pac was OK with Bob Bennett. Bob Bennett promised Pac that if he did not pull out of the fight because of the shoulder injury, he could have a pain shot, then right before the fight Bob Bennett said he could not have the shot, but Void could. After the fight Pac had surgery.................this is blood pressure medicine, the doctor assured everyone that it was not a PED, but that is not good enough for coward Wilder and his protector the WBC. The fact that the WBC made an old, out of shape, inactive, over the hill Stiverne mandatory for doing nothing shows what the WBC is all about. It's all about protecting Wilder. Joshua had better be careful, if that fight is signed, Joshua will be framed, watch and see. Joshua will knock Wilder out, Joshua is too good for Wilder. Wilder would not fight Vlad, an old Vlad, Vlad knocked Wilder down in camp with a jab, then flattened him with a left hook, beat him from one side of the ring to the other. Boxing is corrupt as hell, the Golovkin/Alvarez fight proves that.................Will Wilder fight a rematch with Sconiers? The networks did not want to show a rematch with Stiverne because it was too much of a joke! Looked bad. It's time for Wilder to fight a real fighter who can fight back. Ortiz has agreed to take a hair sample test that is much more accurate than a urine or blood test, but he wants Wilder to take one also. Bet Wilder will not take one......................Wilder is guilty as hell, he has never fought anyone who can fight. It's time to take the title away from protected Wilder and have two good heavyweights fight. As far as VADA, we need another testing organization to test VADA..................they are too close to the WBC and can't be trusted. Remember, VADA will claim Joshua is positive if he fights Wilder, that will happen right before the fight so Wilder can get the titles without fighting for them. Then Wilder will fight winos for many years....................by the way, it's Wilder who has the roid rage!
