He's not a fighter. He can't handle adversity.

In all fairness, it was the first time he was confronted with the fact that his career was manufactured. He was clearly scared, but hung in there, and he at least deserves credit for that.

He has had time to convince himself that he was poisoned...gloves were loaded...whatever. But there is also the talk of the fight being delayed, which is the poison pill. If this talk is coming from his camp, then I would say that he is badly conflicted. So far, I have only heard that Bob Arum is saying as much.

Deontay's so misunderstood, shame on the fans for turning their back on the bomb squad.

He didn't quit and was pissed when the fight was stopped. Give the guy some credit FFS.

He mentally quit. You could see it in his body language. Constantly backpedaling, wide eyed with fear, no real conviction to anything he threw. Can't say I blame him given what he'd been through up until that point, but he was putting up very little resistance by the time the fight was stopped.

And yeah, of course he protested the stoppage. Joshua did the same in the Ruiz fight. It's what you do before that that counts.

Was he still looking for the knockout? He seemed completely spent mentally and physically a good round or so before the end, and had more or less exclusively reverted to walking back in straight lines throwing keep off me jabs by the time the seventh came round.

The protesting is something anyone can do after the fact, and the firing of Breland was more in the way of saving face and convincing himself he was still in the fight when he clearly wasn't.

Truth of the matter is that Wilder was putting up less of a fight than Joshua by the time of their respective stoppages.

Would you have fared better? He was beaten to a pulp, what exactly did you expect him to do?

You are talking out of your arse mate.

No he did not look terrified.

I **** on Wilder all the time but let's give him credit where it's due: he took his beating like a man and tried to win as best he could.

Did you miss where I said "Can't say I blame him given what he'd been through up until that point"? Evidently.

Fighters are human. You can't expect anyone to take a sustained one-sided beating and not check out at some point. Wilder checked out sometime around the fifth. he was running on fumes from that point onward.

Would I have fared better? Of course not dumbass. I'm not calling him a coward, I'm saying he was already mentally done long before the towel was thrown in. Clear enough for you?

Get used to that scared look bro, your gonna see it in Joshua soon, bully’s don’t like fellas like Fury where they can’t intimidate, they fall apart. The gloves are off is where the fight will truly start, sitting face to face with nelson asking questions, you’ll see a friendly smiley very unsure Joshua against a man that’s another level confident, he’ll come away doubting himself Joshua
