Alright, so you're one of these guys who learned everything from watching Mayweather on 24/7 - yes, the punch mitts were featured all the time because they are mesmerizing. If you're building "endurance" on the speedbag ....you're a amateur in training for the silver gloves, a woman, or a weekend warrior. I say this as a guy who hits the speed bag twice a week at the gym myself. It's useful for us. For a world championship boxer? a warmup at best. Endurance, timing, accuracy - thats built on the heavybag and sparring my friend. No other way about it. Power and technique go hand in hand. Repeatedly punching through a heavy-bag as you grind through hundreds and hundreds of punches is the bread and butter of a fighter. Don't rely on 24/7, read the books of the legends, read about Cus D'amato training young tyson on the "willie bag". That man wasn't tapping against some ****king hand pads!
He just really doesn't look natural when he throws. RE the other stuff people are saying: pad work absolutely serves a purpose when used effectively. Building up a 700 punch combo to be done in about 4 seconds isn't helpful because it isn't practical but when Wilder is doing here has its uses. And yes it's cool that he's being made to mit someone in southpaw, it'll be beneficial for sure.
Thank you. At least you're not screaming Ortiz is 1000 years old lol... Look you ****en half wit, I don't respect what you have to say on this matter armchair. The convo is over because you truly dksab. And everyone can tell from your old school outlook that makes absolutely no sense at all. Dumbass response too. Rambling and you aren't saying jack lmao.
After this Ortiz fight hopefully some of the people like myself who have genuine doubts about Wilder should be abit more satisfied.
Dum dum getting mad now. Point is simple, Wilder looks awkward on the pads yet he's stone cold starching all your favorite fighters. He clearly doesnt play pitty pat on the mitts - he lights up the bag (and all your boys!) LOL go watch 24/7 homeboy. You were so far up Broner's ass it was embarrassing - those pad warriors dont last long in this game. Some things are just tried and true.
Ayo somebody tell this degenerate who I ride with in the hvw division, lmao. Next time get your facts straight..and don't tell anyone what you told me about the heavy bag, speed bag, double end bag etc etc. I don't know your ancient ass lmao. Clueless *******.
At 7:45 DW is working on a jab, then a short step with his left foot, a step with his right that leaves him mostly squared, and then a right uppercut. He's trying to take his head to the right, but it looks dangerous! He's moving right into Ortiz' left, but it might be unexpected enough to work. I had a trainer who told us to fight southpaws by moving to the right and throwing right hands. He said they didn't expect it. Maybe Breland is from that same school of thought.
