Povetkin took Wilde to court and lost and then won 4.3 million in an appeal, does anyone know anymore about this case, I`ve just started watching a vid about it by Precise Puncher.
Y Yes. This is over the money that was put up for the winner of their bout. Basically Povetkin's promoter got his cash back, since he won the purse bid. Wilder didn't actually lose anything if I understand it correctly.
Wilder ducked Povetkin. Povetkin was cleared by VADA, yet WBC did not want their hero to fight Povetkin, so they cancelled the fight. Povetkin was proven innocent in court, won the case and yet Wilder still will not fight Povetkin, WBC does not want Wilder knocked out, it's obvious. Haymon makes up the rules......................
Povetkin had two shots at Wilder and blew it. Wilder was coming to Russia for the fight, however Povetkin failed a test wasted everyone's time. Povetkin had a second chance to get a shot a at Wilder by becoming the mandatory for Wilder, but then failed a again test with a fat and inactive Stiverne as his opponent. Stiverne wasn't going to fight Poverkin with nothing on the line and left. Hopefully Povetkin doesn't also blow his shot with Joshua, since at his time is all but up judging by how bad his timing looked in the Price fight.
Stiverne also failed a dope test for that Pov fight but chose to run away and Wilder then gave him the mando. Then he lost the Povetkin case and $4.3m in an escrow account - shame that.
Nope. Povetkin got popped and Wilder rightfully walked away. But then he went to court claiming he was still owed his share of the purse. Wilder should have been compensated for the camp tho. Sparring is not cheap. And the various other costs can add up.
Stiverne disclosed what he was putting in his system prior to the testing and admitted guilt, so he was given leniency with just a fine. Povetkin on the other hand was coming off failing a prior test and failed a second test and also didn't disclose what he was popped for in this second test, which explains why he wasn't shown the same leniency.
Yeah but Stiverne also skipped a vada test in 2017. Skipped tests are a ban in most sports. Povetkin won in court so Wilder had no excuse not to fight him and was happy to go up against failed and skipped test Stiverne.
Travesty, I just hope the bodybuilder's promoter compensates Deontay when he goes over to the UK, to tear Joshua apart. Lol can Eddie even afford close to 50 million!?
Even if AJ Vs Wilder doesn't happen it really is no worries, Wilder can pay this off with 4 defences.
