I dont know what is funnier. Hearn getting completely shitted on or all these weird fanagers/matchroom bots going into meltdown. Either way it's bloody hilarious
Shirley Winkle's statement today, intended to disprove Eddie's claim of a "publicity stunt", ironically more or less confirms it. He claims it's "non-productive" to hold a meeting to discuss details (funding, broadcast rights, etc) until Joshua first accepts the offer! What kind of childlike way to negotiate a fight is this?? I really get the sense that the Wilder team have been so put out by Eddie's taunts that they're now more focussed on getting one over him than they are on a sensible negotiation. It's pretty weird behaviour, but ultimately will be a win for the fighters if Haymon and Winkle's impetuousness does indeed get them paid so far above market rate.
Here's Wink's statement Dear Eddie, With all due respect you know Al and I for a long time and you know this is not a publicity stunt. I assure you that we’re serious and we would be glad to sit down with you and provide proper security for the funding and work out all the details. But it all has to start with Anthony Joshua accepting the $50million offer that he asked for, which is also by far the largest guarantee and largest purse any heavyweight champion in history has ever made. Until then, it would be non-productive to meet. Please have Anthony accept the offer that he asked for and let’s get this fight made. Thanks, Shelly
It's ridiculous. They had a meeting scheduled before this offer so to try and get out of it unless AJ agrees to a deal without knowing the venue,, Date and other details is farcical.
Yeah stupid from wilders team. You can't seriously agree to a fight without knowing all the details. Why do you need Joshua to agree first anyway. Sit down and get it made. Hearn should just leave it at that. Joshua can make big paydays against anyone. Meanwhile wilder will never be a star fighting breazeale etc. He also will need to take riskier fights to keep up the fans he does have. Wilder could well lose out on a massive payday...if one of them knocks him out. Joshua will beat him up anyway. There's a reason wilders been protected for so long. Hes a decent fighter...but no better than that. Their picking Tailor made opponents for him. Sitting back with his long reach letting smaller reached fighter come into him...they,ve got his timing down well with the right hand for the incoming opponents. The problems will come when the opponent doesn't need to come into him. Joshua won't need to. Then you,ll see how average he is.
Go sober up for a while. I'm sure plenty here will be happy to engage you in a proper discussion about this once you've stopped behaving like a lardy Antifa member. The stateside ppv aspect is potentially an interesting conversation. Just a shame you see fit to present it in such a ******ed manner.
Joshua said after the Parker fight, live on TV, that he wouldn't fight Wilder in the States. IMO Hearn and Joshua will soon be making excuses.
Im at work so cant read all the thread could someone break it down quick...has Wilder really put 50 mill on the table?
This recent ‘offer’ appears to have been more of a warning shot to Hearn then 100% legit. Eddie has been pissing a lot of the Americans off with his stupid name calling and over confidence when it comes to AJ. I guess Finke and Haymon and co probably thought ‘’let’s send a shot across his bow- keep this limey Cnut in check’’ Eddie must have been rocked to his boots when this $50m counter was delivered- constantly on the phone to AJ to keep him under control with his own curiosity and having to fend off questions from the US media. It’s all been very entertaining.
Wilder and his team are a joke. They obviously don't want anything to do with AJ as they know he will KO him. To say AJ can have 50 mil but he needs to agree before any meeting takes place is just making them silly. If they are scared to just get in a room with Eddie to discuss then can you imagine how scared they will be if the fight ever got made. I think Eddie is spot on when he says Wilder will fight Brezeale next and this will be another example of them avoiding the fight. It's time for Wilder to make a decision - either negotiate a realistic deal with Eddie or just admit to the world that he is a poor champion and does not want to fight the real champion, and then just shut up!
