The only way Fury Wilder 4 is next is if the Saudi's have pulled $80m+ out their butts and want to host it for themselves in the summer for some weird ego boost.

Given Fury is suggesting his next fight is in Saudi...hey maybe but doubt it. Fury Wilder is over.

Gotta be a rumor and nothing more. Fury barely wanted the third fight. The WBC would have zero issue with Ruiz as Fury's next opponent.

    Counterpunch isn't a trustworthy source.

Yes, Wilder may end up being the mandatory after Whyte, but it would be years before he'd get a shot and who knows who the champion would be at that time.

I don't mind Wilder-Fury IV as long as it's after the undisputed title fight and not before.

I wouldn't blame Whyte for walking away though, 80-20 is disgusting and doesn't reflect what both bring to the table. 65-35 would have been the fair split and a good compromise for both sides.

Only the WBC can shameless make a guy coming of two consecutive KO lose the mandatory challenger.

They haven't made him mandatory. He's highly rated because he just put the champion on his ass twice. Stop falling for every single random propaganda piece posted online by trolls and idiots.

I didn’t say he was , just saying that only the WBC would be shameless enough to do it.

Lmao would not surprise me if this happened. The state of boxing honesty. The heavyweight division has been the weakest for some time and the top 3 have still barely faced each other.

Wilder would have a long road ahead to become mandatory again. Would likely take several years to get a title shot via being a WBC mandatory. Whyte is next in line. Then unifications. Wilder would need to win a final eliminator, etc. This thread is nonsense honestly.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but please allow me to offer another perspective.

#1 - Please keep in mind interim champions in the WBC aren't treated any different than a regular mandatory when it comes to the purse bid split. I'm sure you've seen stuff online about interim champions being entitled to 45%. That's not true at all. That doesn't appear anywhere in the WBC rules and in fact the WBC has a very clear rule saying the interim championship has nothing to do with the split. Whyte is just a mandatory when it comes to the split.

#2 - The normal split is 70/30. It can be modified if one of the fighters typically earns way more than the other. This is based on recent fight purses submitted to the WBC. Whyte's filed purse for his last fight was $400,000 (he likely earned a couple million or so). Fury's filed purse for his last fight was $6,000,000 (he likely earned $30,000,000). So Fury makes 15x more than Whyte normally. 80/20 means Fury will make 4x more than Whyte. Modifying the split to 80/20 from 70/30 is completely reasonable considering the wide disparity in recent Fury & Whyte purses.

#3 - This entire topic has been clouded by misinformation from Eddie Hearn. Insisting interim champions typically get 45% (absolutely false). Insisting 80/20 is an outrageous split for a heavyweight title fight (even though the split was 80/20 when Fury himself was mandatory and Joshua-Usyk was 80/20 as well).

Hearn is a promoter. It's his job to lie to gain favor for his fighters. But the facts are clear in this case. Fury is a huge huge earner and based on prior instances where the split was modified in the champion's favor, it's reasonable for Fury to now be given the same respect.
